Six Japanese Meiji period Imari palette non-matching plates, diameter of each 21.5cm, five Oriental blue and white ginger jars with covers, with prunus blossom decoration, some matching, height of largest 22cm, an Oriental-style baluster vase in the Imari palette, height 19.5cm, a decorative oval bowl in the Oriental style, green ground with Famille Rose enamel decoration and a hardwood stand. CONDITION REPORT One Imari palette plate has hairline crack approx 7.5cm to inner rim. One has area of approx 3ins missing from rim. One has a rim repair, hairline crack and various rim chips. Damage to others is mainly age-related loss of colour and surface scratches. Cracked and repaired lid to one ginger jar, small ginger jar lid cracked. Hairline crack to rim of large ginger jar. Green bowl appears to have no damage.

(2).Footnotes:清康熙 五彩楊家將人物故事圖大盤一對Provenance: a European private collection來源：歐洲私人收藏The mounted horsewomen identify this subject matter as the story of 'The Female Troops of the Yang Family'. The Yang family was celebrated in the Northern Song dynasty for their military prowess and loyalty to the Emperor, and for many years they were successful in protecting China from northern invaders. Eventually, however, the majority of the male members of the Yang family were killed by the invading Khitan. In order to avenge their husbands' deaths and in defence of their country, the women of the family took up arms and are shown here practicing their equestrian skills prior to riding out to meet the enemy. Dishes with this design and from this period are more commonly found decorated in the rose-verte or famille rose palette, whereas the verte-Imari palette appears to be particularly unusual. A VERTE-IMARI DISH AND AN UNUSUAL BLUE AND WHITE 'BOTANICAL' CHARGER18th centuryThe verte-Imari dish decorated in underglaze blue, iron-red and gilt, with floral scrolls to the rim, framing a part-open scroll with a central scene depicting a pheasant perched on a blossoming prunus branch and another flying above; the blue and white botanical charger painted with a branch of cloves and one of nutmeg above a large pineapple. 22.2cm (8 3/4in) and 32cm (12 1/2in) diam. (2).Footnotes:Provenance: The verte-Imari dish - Pater Gratia Oriental Art, 2011, no. 538 (label)The unusual design of the botanical charger is taken from an engraving from A Compleat History of Druggs, by Pierre Pomet published in London 1712. The original French version of the book by Pierre Pomet Histoire Générale des Drogues was published in Paris in 1694. The book was part medical journal but also partly a guide to exotic places and customs. Pierre Pomet (1658-1699) became chief pharmacist to Louis XIV. A blue and white porcelain coffee cup and saucer with this unusual design was recovered from the wreck of a ship built in London, the Griffin, which sank in 1761.
