Große Imari-VaseJapan, Meiji Periode, 1868-1912Höhe 57 cm, Durchmesser an der Mündung 23 cm, mittig 40 cmGroße Kinrande-Imari Porzellanvase mit goldüberhöhtem floralem Dekor in unterglasurblau und überglasurrot, vier weiß ausgesparten Paneelen, in denen Pflaumenblüten mit Gartensteinen und Gräser mit Chrysanthemen arrangiert sind. Porzellane mit vergoldeter Zier, sogenanntem Kinrande- („Goldbrokat“-) Dekor sind eine chinesische Entwicklung der späten Ming Dynastie und haben mit dem Zustrom chinesischer Handwerker und Technologien am Ende der Mingzeit im 17. Jahrhundert Eingang in die japanische Keramikkunst gefunden. Speziell im barocken Europa beliebt (August der Starke war ein bedeutender Sammler solcher Stücke), waren Kinrandeporzellane mit frischen Dekorelementen auch in der Meijizeit (1868-1911) noch sehr geschätzte Exportgüter und haben, wie auch an diesem Stück ersichtlich, Anstöße zur Entwicklung des Jugendstils geliefert.
