A COLLECTION OF LATE 18TH AND 19TH CENTURY CHINESE PORCELAIN, comprising four famille rose footed dishes, decorated with fruit and flowers, length 18.7cm x height4.2cm, a set of three famille rose Chinese export tea bowls and saucers with fish scale borders and another tea bowl and saucer decorated in the Imari palette (12) (Condition report: one footed dish is in good condition, another has several small chips on the underside of the rim, another has a broken section with evidence of old glue, the fourth has a large area of damage to one side of the oval, all have black firing inclusions, the famille rose set has one saucer chipped and cracked and two tea bowls chipped and cracked, the Imari palette tea bowl has a small chip to the outer rim and the saucer is cracked)
A LATE VICTORIAN OAK CASED SMOKERS CABINET, the bevel edged glazed door opening to reveal a pipe rack, shelves holding a pottery tobacco jar and cover and two matching dishes florally decorated in the Imari palette, three drawers below the shelves with brass handles and backplates, on bracket feet, width 29cm x depth 20.5cm x height 43.5cm (Condition Report: in good condition overall, inside of the tobacco jar rim has a chip)
A large Japanese Imari porcelain punch bowl, Meiji Period (1868-1912), of circular form and profusely decorated with flora and fauna, 36cm diameter CONDITION REPORT:The piece shows surface wear, surface scratching and firing pits and frits throughout. The piece is naively decorated with thick applications of some colours. There is a fine line descending from the rim, but this appears to be a fine paint line rather than a hairline, and the bowl rings clearly when pinged.
A Japanese Imari porcelain charger, 19th century, of circular form and decorated in the Aesthetic Period style with reserves of figures, 31cm diameter, with a further Imari porcelain charger of petal form, 31cm wide, a pair of 20th century Imari porcelain plates, 31.5cm wide, and a Chinese Famille Rose Canton porcelain baluster vase, 23cm high (5)
A selection of porcelain teacups and saucers, 19th century, each of faceted London shape with flared lip, to include an example decorated with reserves of exotic birds, a faux jewelled example, an example with panels of Chinese courtiers, and another in an Imari palate, all with gilt highlights throughout (17) (at fault) CONDITION REPORT:All pieces show extensive rubbing to the gilt highlights, and surface wear throughout. One saucer shows a chip to the rim, some of the cups show hairline cracks to the handles, and some show hairline cracks to the bodies. See photos for examples.
