There is a small amount of gilding wear, mainly around the rim and some glaze scratching to the centre of the bowl.

Large Japanese charger, decorated in an imari palette with a tree, flora and leaves issuing from rockwork, an exotic bird perched up high from a blossoming branch, within a blue scrolling leafwork border set with cartouches depicting dragons, animals and auspicious objects, the reverse also decorated with leaves and flora, Meiji period 1868 - 1912.60.5cm diameterThe charger has two old restored sections of the rim covering an 8cm and 5cm area, the restoration is starting to fade in colour and separate from the main body of the charger. The rim has some glaze loss from the metal plate hangers. The gilding is generally in good condition however there is some rubbing and wear mainly to the edge and border. Glaze scratches to the underside base.
