A Japanese Imari jardiniere, late Meiji period, having a wavy rim above panels of wisteria, ducks and scrolling lotus. Diameter 28 cm, height 24.5 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The gilding around the rim is 99% erased. The body appears to be in good order with no obvious chips, cracks, flaws, faults or restorations. There is some brown staining on the interior where a saucer has obviously sat leaving a brown ring. There is very light rubbing to the gilding on the exterior but otherwise the decoration is in good order. The jardiniere rings out nicely when lightly tapped.
A Chinese Famille Rose tea bowl and saucer, 18th century, finely decorated with floral sprays against a cell and vignette border, and a Chinese 18th century shaped saucer with Famille Rose floral decoration heightened with gilding and with a red and gilt pendant border. Diameter of saucers 12 cm and 11.5 cm, and a Chinese St Cloud style trembleuse saucer, decorated in the Imari palette, 12 cm diameter.
Chinese porcelain, 19th/20th century, comprising a slender sleeve vase, a brush pot, inverted baluster vase, a modern yellow ground vase and cover and an early 18th century Japanese Imari jug. CONDITION REPORT: The brush pot has a large chip missing to the rim from which issues a large U shape hairline crack held by 3 rivets. The bird decorated slender spill vase has three 4 cm fine hairline cracks issuing from the rim. The meiping shape vase has a fully restored neck and has fritting chips all around the base. The vase depicting a figure seated upon a kylin has a rectangular section of top rim with sections of glazing missing. The yellow ground vase and cover is in good order but not of the highest quality. The largest spill vase has two large hairline cracks issuing from the rim and has been reduced in height. There are sections of fritting around the lower part of the vase just above the foot rim. The Japanese jug has a replacement handle and numerous repaired cracks and flaws.
