Rolex Oyster Perpetual Day-Date 18ct gold gentleman's automatic wristwatch ref. 18038 with day and date apertures, luminous gold hands and baton markers, bevelled bezel, houndstooth tapestry dial and 27 jewel calibre 3055 movement, on 18ct gold bracelet, case diameter 36mm, serial number 9627326, 1987.
A George III mahogany carver dining chair, with turned cresting rail, shaped arms, a drop in tapestry seat and front cabriole legs on pad feet. (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The frame is loose, particularly in the rear left-hand corner as you look at the chair. The right-hand arm where it joins the frame at the top has been broken and repaired. There are cracks at the front of the front left-hand leg at the top. Turning the chair upside down one of the stretchers is broken and loose and most of the joints have been repaired at some point. We cannot see any evidence of woodworm.
A 19th century cross stitch sampler, inscribed Phebe Blair finished this work in the 18 year of her age with bands of alphabet and numbers above intricate floral motifs. 40 x 19 cm, together with a second tapestry "The Family Register" and dated 1889 by a different hand. 41 x 32 cm (2). A Victorian tapestry dated 1893, with traditional rows of numbers, the alphabet and multiple floral and animal decoration, all within intricate geometric borders, worked with the marriage of George Duke Of York to Mary of Teck, unframed and attached to a hardwood scroll. 82 x 45 cm. A Chinese silk court robe, having metallic thread tapestry Kesi decoration depicting mythological beasts on red ground. Height 98 cm. (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: This garment is structurally intact with no significant losses, tears or holes. There is a visible repair to the right-hand panel approximately 8 ins in length and this can be seen on the inside of the garment also. There are continuous loose threads throughout the embroidery front and back and staining in places to the collar and significantly to the seams within the garment. Staining and signs of wear to both sleeves. Overall intact but in used condition.
