An early-mid 18thC English oil on canvas still life of a vase of flowers on a table, apparently unsigned, in the style of Simon Verelst and the 17thC Dutch School, with rug or tapestry, bowl, apples, grapes and cherries, within a gilt frame, canvas 72.4cm high, 60cm wide, frame 81.3cm high, 69cm wide.Condition: Relined, cleaned in the past, repaired hole to bottom right of image, as shown in photograph of the reverse. Canvas slightly loose and sagging on its stretchers, the shapes of which which are showing through. Fixed back into the frame with stapled card strips on the reverse. Unexamined out of its frame and not examined with a UV light. Frame with losses from across the years.
