In a summer landscape the Hellespont flows under a bridge; in fortified ruins three blacksmiths repair armour, nearby a fountain cascades and in the foreground, two putti herald Lysanders return from Battle and a cherub sits astride the Warrior's discarded breastplate and sword. The tapestry has a gold and green banded border and is lined with linen, 6ft 1in x 11ft (restoration, probably reduced in size)
