A FRENCH VERDURE TAPESTRY EARLY 18TH CENTURY With birds amongst trees and bushes, within an associated border of flower draped urns, strapwork and shields approximately 294 x 253cm Condition Report: Possibly a section from a larger example- reduced. The whole with colour fading, some stains and inherent fragility. It has had conservation numerous areas of stitch repairs and some rebacking in the past but there are sections that show loose threading and open areas with backing visible. It has later hoops to top edge for hanging but given the fragility Dreweatts have elected not to hang this for display in order to avoid potential further loss/or damage. .Will greatly benefit from remedial conservation prior to installation in domestic setting.
