A MATCHED PAIR OF WALNUT AND VERDURE TAPESTRY UPHOLSTERED ARMCHAIRS FRENCH, EARLY 18TH CENTURY One with shell carved cabriole legs, the other with horsebone legs, the raised backs each centred by a bird 114cm and 111cm high respectively Condition Report: Both with marks, knocks, scratches and abrasions consistent with age and use. The tapestry to both with the expected wear, losses, old stitch repairs, and some colour lines opening.Both chair frames with evidence of old worm in areas throughout - see images for extent. Some filler applied to timber in places. Chair One:Various old splits chips and losses some more splits to the elbow of one arm and the joins where the front legs meet the rail. A TAPESTRY COVERED FOUR FOLD SCREEN CIRCA 1900 Each panel covered with a floral motif Each 199cm high, 54cm wide Condition Report: With wear, marks, knocks and scratches as per age, handling, use, and cleaning. With some muting to colours and yellowing from sunlight and exposure. Margins to frame with fraying from handling. Some uneveness to weaving, notably to areas of sky but this looks to be largely due to original weaving. Reverse plain with occasional small punctures and wear from handling.
