Woven central flag motif surrounded by leaves with a tri-coloured red white and blue bow beneath. Mounted to board. The central flags detailing campaigns and dates. 73cm x 81cm
AN EARLY C17TH FRAMED TAPESTRY Dating to the second quarter of the 17th century, worked in silk, mainly tent stitch, raised work, including many of the popular motifs of its period's pictorial embroideries. The motifs have been appliqued to a silk ground. The tapestry measures 20.5" x 17.5" and has been recently framed. (1)
