A pair of late 19th century Meissen porcelain four-light figural candelabrathe detachable candlestick bases formed as seated classical maidens clad in floral sprig enamelled pale blue robes, their arms wrapped around naked putti, on shaped square bases with pale turquoise and pale pink rocaille moulded panelled decoration, each enamelled with songbirds and insects, the detachable polychrome enamelled floral and berry encrusted three branch fittings with brass collars and corresponding turquoise and pink enamelled scrolling leafy moulded candle nozzles with leafy collars, each centred by a rustic central stem with corresponding nozzle and collar, the decoration all outlined in gilt, the bases with underglaze blue painted crossed sword factory marks, incised marks C84 and numbered in red 12, 48cm high (4)For further information on this lot please visit Bonhams.com
A pair of late Victorian silver candlesticks, Sheffield, 1889, Hawksworth, Eyre & Co., the spreading square bases decorated with classical female figures in relief within oval frames, the tapering stems with husk borders to urn-shaped capitals with conforming decoration and removable drip pans, bases filled, approx. 29.5cm high (pr)Condition Report: An attractive pair of candlesticks but some wear noted to both. General surface scratching and nicking to both commensurate with age. Some splits and holes at high points. Some bruising to corners. One drip pan missing base section. Hallmarks clear. Pitch to interior is loose in both candlesticks and rattles when moved. Felt has been replaced to one. One candlestick wobbles a little on base. Dings and bruising around feet of both.
