A Coalport 'Coalbrookdale' porcelain writing set or deskstand, circa 1835 of twin-handled form, with inkwell, sander and spill vase, finely painted with flowers and butterflies, typically encrusted with flowers, signed in underglaze blue 'Cdale' to the base, 30cm wide (missing one inkwell) Provenance: Ivor Southorn Collection. Notes: This 'two by two' configuration is much rarer than the more commonly found inkstands which typically only include three central linear recesses for inkwells, a vase and/or a candlestick. Condition:Missing an inkwell and cover. The other inkwell's cover is chipped. Losses and breakages to flowers and foliage throughout. One piece of fruit/foliage has been crudely broken and re-stuck. There is a chip to one foot and another foot has been cleanly broken and re-stuck. Crazing throughout.

EBENEZER COKER; a pair of George III hallmarked silver candlesticks with cast open shell and floral decoration, London 1764, with detachable sconces, height 26cm, approx weight 37.95ozt/1180g (2).Condition Report: Both candlesticks are in very good condition. Both sconces bear rubbed partial marks. Marks very crisp to the candlestick bases, both with partial marks to the neck. Both stand true and if being ultra critical one has a vary slight uneaten base. Neither have any inscriptions or damage. Very minor surface rubbing to the wrythen twist columns, but again this is being critical. Overall a very good pair.
