dating: Period (1603-1867) provenance: Japan, Made of black, brown and gold lacquered iron with lacquered Makie 'Aki-kusa-yoru' design (Autumn flowers in the night). This type of candlestick with handle called 'Teshoku' was only used by rich Samurai families. Candlesticks of the Edo period are rarely found in Europe. Complete with its original Kiri-box. Middle Edo period, 18th century. dimensions 27 x 10.5 x 13 cm.

Darüber wiederum ein in Silber gearbeitetes Meerweibchen, dessen aufgerollter Schwanz als Halterung dient, und das mit dem Mund den Tüllenaufsatz balanciert.
