14th-15th century AD. A tall openwork moulded pewter candlestick with three legs, each formed of a knight on horseback with standing figure above, supporting a dish with three raised octofoil flowers inside, tapered square candle spike in centre. 495 grams, 18cm (7"). Very fine condition. Extremely rare. Property of a Suffolk collector; found on a building site in Norwich, Norfolk, UK, 1980s. A pair of William IV silver candlesticks, Sheffield 1831, by T J and N Creswick, with acanthus scroll and shell decoration, detachable drip pans, raised on shaped circular loaded bases, 27.5cm high CONDITION REPORT: Candlestick One - Drip pan fully hallmarked. Base of candlestick dented. Areas of lower knop worn/split at the seams with small dents. Hallmarks on the base rubbed. Candlestick Two - Drip pan fully hallmarked. Top of the rim slightly dented. Very small knocks on the centre column, base dented and lower knop worn/split at the seams. Hallmarks on the base rubbed.
A large collection of various brass to include candlesticks, miner's type lamp, etc, a box containing an assortment of stoneware hot water bottles, copper kettle, jam pan, two bed warming pans and a spelter figure of a knight with spear CONDITION REPORTS The knight figure is separated from base, various wear, scuffs, misshaping. Brassware with various wear, scuffs, dents, some damage, tarnish. The lamp has wear, scuffs, tarnish and underside is inscribed "warning only parafin to be used ....". Please note that there is only one lamp in this lot. Candlesticks - some with damage and losses, all with wear and some denting, tallest single candlestick is approx 34cm high. The pair of ornate candlesticks and relief/embossed foliate decoration - height approx 16cm. Both warming pans are dented and mis-shapen, various tarnish and scuffs. Stoneware items with various wear, scuffs, chips. Copper pan with quite an uneven dented surface and very misshapen base, wear and tarnish.
A 19th Century Davenport "Japan" pattern tureen and cover, a Davenport floral spray decorated plate, ironstone tureen base and similar plate, a pottery soap dish and cover, two pottery candlesticks, Derby floral spray decorated platter, three various stoneware jugs, three Parian ware figures, two Staffordshire figure groups, etc CONDITION REPORTS Tureen and cover - the tureen has been broken around the rim in several places and restored, has general wear and tear to include loss to the enamel and gilding. Davenport plate has been heavily restored to include re-spraying and there is also a large crack visible at the back. Tureen base has a large star crack to base and a hairline fracture down one side, various chips and firing faults to base in particular, loss to the gilding and enamel , heavy scratching and discolouration. Similar plate has several hairline fractures and chips to both the underside and upper side of rims, heavy wear to the gilding and enamel, knife marks, etc. The soap dish and cover have crazing, the dish has several chips and losses to base, wear to the glaze, various frits, etc. The cover's handle has been off and reapplied and there is discolouration. The pottery candlesticks - Imari palette example has various hairline fractures and appears to have been repaired around the sconce / neck of candle holder and there is discolouration and crazing. The cream floral decorated candlestick has crazing, hairline crack running down the edge of the sconce, various losses to the enamel ware, etc. The Derby floral decorated platter has firing faults, signs of crazing and there is a star crack to the base and a large crack running along the base. The Imari style tureen stand on a yellow ground has two large cracks and old repairs with iron staples. The three jugs all have crazing, various hairline cracks, firing faults and extensive wear to the enamel and gilded decoration. The three Parian ware figures - on the one playing the lute there is heavy restoration to the hands and lute - all three are discoloured and have various knocks, etc. The Staffordshire spill vase with a courting couple - the top has been broken off, there are losses to the enamel decoration. Clock holder - the top has been broken off and re-glued, the eagle's head is missing and there are various knocks and crazing all over. All items have wear to the decoration, knocks, surface scratches, etc, conducive with age and use. See images for more details.

A George V hallmarked silver Corinthian column candlestick with stop fluted shaft and square stepped loaded base with beading and removable beaded sconce, makers mark rubbed, Birmingham 1923, height 31cm, with matching adaptation to three light candelabrum in white metal, apparently unmarked, total height 45cm. CONDITION REPORT: Hallmarks to the base are a bit rubbed, areas of tarnish, mainly to the stem. Traces of cleaning products. One branch is a bit misshapen, the other one has a sconce that is a bit loose and wobbly. Areas of small dents to sconces.

WEMYSS WARE POTTERY CANDLESTICK handpainted with pink roses on a black ground raised on square section base, impressed Wemyss mark to base. 30cm high. CONDITION REPORT: Minor nibbles to square section rim base and rim a third of the way up. No obvious major significant losses or damage. Paint loss and crazing as expected with age.
