MOORCROFT; a pair of 'Pansy' pattern tubeline decorated squat candlesticks on pale green ground, impressed marks to base, height 9cm, and a matching oval ashtray, impressed marks and sticker to the base (3).Additional InformationAll pieces with extensive crazing to the glaze throughout, one candlestick with tiny nibble to edges of base and a couple of other examples and an underglaze imperfection.
A mixed Oriental group to include a cloisonné ink stand with two interior ceramic inkwells , a cloisonné and gilt metal candle stand and an early 20th century Japanese ceramic ovoid pottery vase, the candle stand 14cm in diameter (3) CONDITION REPORT: The inkwell is damaged, the dome topped cover is away from the main body and one of the circular ceramic inkwells has a chip. The ceramic vase has a star crack to the underside and small hairlines emanating from the lip at the top. The candlestick/candle stand has discolouration and staining although the cloisonné enamel appears to be in good general overall order.
A pair of early 20th century hallmarked silver hexagonal table candlesticks, London assay marks, 20cm CONDITION REPORT: These are not perfect, one of the candlesticks on the main tapering hexagonal body has 2/3 prevalent dings which are quite prominent and there is also a further ding where the stem meets the spreading hexagonal foot. The hallmarks are quire rubbed on this particular stick and it has lost its weighted shellac which would have been inside the base. The second candlestick (the one with the lot number affixed) is in slightly better condition although it has still lost 90% of the shellac/pitch weighting inside the base. The marks also rubbed although there are no great “dings”, dents or major problems noted.

A small Bow candlestick figure of Africa c.1765, modelled as a female blackamoor standing before a recumbent lion and wearing an elephant headdress, her left arm outstretched, raised on a three footed scroll base, the sconce and drip pan picked out in puce and turquoise, an impressed T mark to the underside of the drip pan, a repair to her left arm, 19.7cm.
A rare Bow candlestick figure group c.1760, emblematic of Summer, of Venus and Cupid, the goddess holding a sheaf of corn and wearing a patterned robe, the putto reclining before her and resting his head on a further sheaf, standing before a candle sconce and drip pan raised on a scrolled stem, above a footed base picked out in gilt and turquoise, rare blue crescent mark, 29.5cm.

St. Barnabas was designed by Thomas Cundy with assistance from Butterfield 1847-50. A comparable drawing by Pugin of this design is illustrated in the Hardman & Co. catalogue, 1846, number 9.
