Two original early 20th century c1914 candlestick / stick telephones - both with ' No.22 ' bakelite microphones fitted. Both likely GPO produced. As used along the Western Front during the First World War for communications. These examples have the dialing mechanisms removed from the front, which suggests this use. Rare early telephones.
A silver plated candlestick on taxidermy hoof base with a pink glass oil lamp conversion, height 59cm.Additional InformationSome fritting to lower shade, small chip and further fritting to the lower rim of the chimney and also small chips to the upper rim. Over polished to silver plate with base showing through throughout as well as tarnish. The base is loose so the entire thing stands at an angle. Very dirty and dusty. The shade supports also misshapen. The reservoir, bracket and shade detach from the base but the urn shaped socket and collar are attached to the slot.
