Born in Paris to an academic French-Algerian family, Kermiche was steered into the world of corporate engineering before changing track to find her calling in jewellery design – honing her craft in London's Hatton Garden.

A George III Silver Chamber Candlestick, by Elizabeth Jones, London, 1785, circular and with beaded border and loop handle, the tapering socket with detachable beaded nozzle, with conical extinguisher, 10.2cm wide over handle, 3oz 3dwt, 97grFully marked under base. The nozzle and extinguisher each apparently unmarked. The marks are generally clear, though with some wear to the maker's mark. The extinguisher may be associated. There is some overall surface scratching and wear, consistent with age and use. There is some engraving just visible on the base. The is worn and partly erased. There has been a repair to the handle.
