Fine quality set of four early George III silver candlestick with Ionic column and stepped bases with gadrooned borders, separate sconces (London 1762) Ebenezer Coker. All at approximately 85ozs, each stick 29.5cm overall height CONDITION REPORT General overall condition good. Some surface wear, scratching and denting commensurate with age and use. No evidence of major damage or repair. All four sticks are fully marked in thinner edges of the bases. Sconces are loose fit, these are marked with lion passant and makers mark, one appears to be unmarked. The bases appear cast and assembled but we cannot say for certain. Columns are seamed. All four sticks had wooden base inserts but have been removed. Weight is for all four sticks together including sconces. Each stick weighs approximately 21.25 ozs without the wooden inserts
Late 19th century Burmese cast white metal candlestick in the form of a slender female dancer resting her weight on her right foot. Dressed in a sarong and wearing jewellery, holding up torch-shaped candle holder, and standing on a circular pedestal base decorated with images of lions and semi-divine beings against a patterned background. Unmarked, all approximately 19ozs, 28.5cm overall height CONDITION REPORT General overall condition good. No sign of major damage or repair. Stick is in three pieces, candle holder, figure and base. Candle holder is not tight fit onto the vase held by the figure. Wing nut and washer securing base to figure are replacements. Whole candlestick is heavily tarnished
