A pair of 19th century Meissen candlesticks, decorated with birds and insects, crossed swords mark to base. Height 27 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: One candlestick is in extremely good order with no significant condition issues. It has some rubbing to the gilding on the foot rim and one tiny under edge chip to the foot rim but is in otherwise perfect condition. The second candlestick looks to have been broken at the narrow point of the stem. There is overpainting evident here. There is also a small under edge chip to the foot rim which has some filler. The gilt line around the base is similarly rubbed.
A Losol Ware toilet jug, basin, soap dish, candlestick and jar CONDITION REPORT: The jug has been restored. There is overpainting to the bulbous part of the base. There are two significant overpainted hairline cracks. One runs approximately a third of the distance around the proud part of the base the other approximately quarter of the way around the base. The gilding to the top lip is a little rubbed. The soap dish lid has a 1 cm chip to the bottom edge and a resulting 3 cm hairline crack. The drainer and base are in good condition. The candlestick and vase are both in good order with only minor rubbing to the gilding.
