A pair of Royal Worcester porcelain figural candlesticks designed by James Hadley depicting a young boy and young girl by tree stump in the manner of Kate Greenaway, date marked for 1892, bears printed and impressed marks and No. "1141" CONDITION REPORTS Figure of boy; Some wearing to the gilt work through out, especially to the banding on the hat, his clothes and left shoe. There is white paint or mark to the boys right hip. There is section to the boys hat which appears to be repaired damage, to the rim, above his ear. There is a hole to the base, with a dark grey colour to the interior. There are some small sections of white paint, especially prevalent on the tree, with a band of white paint, going around the tree, where the boys shoulder is, presumably hiding a repair? There is a band of white paint nearer to the top of the candlestick. General wear and tear through out. Figure of the girl; Some wearing to the gilt, especially prevalent to the hat. The tree trunk has been off at some point and stuck back on, the repair being visible. Some residue of the glue is spotted on to the trunk below the repair. Some spots through out of slightly differently coloured white paint. There is a slight rough section to touch when running my finger along the rim, although am unable to see anything. Approx 26cm high.
