A good Brescian 22 bore flintlock holster pistol,c 1675,16.5 " overall,3 stage barrel stamped "Lazarino" on the octagonal breech; rounded lock with chiselled foliate decoration to tail of plate, cock, pan and frizzen, the plate engraved "Gio Batta Bergonze" attractively figured dark walnut full stock with fluted fore end, the butt inlaid with pierced and engraved panels of foliage inhabited with stylized lions heads; pierced and chiselled butt cap, trigger guard and ramrod pipe; the ramrod with chiselled tip and plain steel worm. Good working order and clean condition ( barrel lightly pitted, some very well executed restoration); Stockel lists Giovanni Battista Bergonze working in Brescia c 1670-75

A Russian 1845 Pattern Percussion Musket, the 108cm steel barrel stamped T over 1850, No.12664, the lock plate stamped T.O.Z in cyrillic for the Tula Armoury and dated 1850, the Siberian birch full stock with three brass barrel bands, the fore-end one incorporating the ramrod pipe, the brass trigger guard with ribbed finger grooves, the short butt faintly stamped with a roundel and with raised cheekpiece, the brass butt plate tang stamped with the Russian eagle, with steel sling swivels and steel ramrod, all brass furniture stamped with a hammer, the date 1850 and with various cyrillic markings.
