^ Unusual 19th Century Persian Dagger Jambya, curved double edge blade with raised central rib, walrus ivory hilt carved in relief on one side with seated king holding a mace, and on the reverse with an ascetic smoking a pipe and seated beneath a tree containing a perched parrot, the pommel carved in relief with a perched parrot, borders inlaid with brass nail heads; in its black leather covered sheath with silver toggle and bone finial. Blade 22cms, overall 33cms. Good condition.
Victorian Shield-Shaped Oak Board Covered with a Display of Indian Weapons, 19th century and earlier, comprising Tanjore katar with chiselled iron hilt; katar with gold decorated hilt and thick wootz blade; a tulwar in its scabbard; 6 kukris comprising 3 with fine blades, 1 with silver pommel, 3 in scabbards including a small one with m.o.p and jade hilt; an iron axe with twin crescent head and iron shaft; 2 kards comprising 1 with bone grips and 1 with brass grips; a pair of knives with niello pommels; an all-iron dagger bich’wa with integral hilt and blade; and a smoking pipe with small brass bowl. ^ Fine and Rare Hallmarked Silver Mounted Irish Constabulary Presentation Mameluke Sabre, 1843, pipe back single edge blade by IOHN IRELAND, Elliss’s Quay, DUBLIN, etched ‘Presented By Command Of His EXCELLENCY the LORD LIEUTENANT to Sub Inspector THOs. THOMPSON for Meritorious Constabulary Services 1843’ all within ribbons against profuse scrolling foliage and shamrocks overall, mounts chiselled overall with shamrocks and foliage in relief and repeatedly hall marked for London, 1842-3, maker T.B within a rectangle (for Thomas Barker), comprising H.M. crosspiece, foliate engraved grip strap, chiselled silver thimbles to pommel, 2 piece ivory grips with silver bullion dress knot, in its fish skin covered scabbard with H.M. locket, 2 H.M. hanging bands and 2 H.M. suspension rings. Blade 80cms. Good untouched condition, the attic find sword requires cleaning; chape, lower fish skin and grip rivets missing.
Scarce 1821 Heavy Cavalry Officers Undress Pattern Sword, pipe back blade etched HAMBURGER & Co, 30 King St, Covent Garden, LONDON, and with crowned VR and laurel wreath, regulation iron guard pierced with honeysuckle design, iron grip strap with stepped pommel, silver wire bound fish skin covered grip. Blade 91cms. Good untouched condition, requires cleaning overall, a little fish skin missing from edge of grip.
Scarce George IV 1822 Pattern General Officers Sword, pipe back polished blade etched with crowned GR IV within laurel wreath upon a shaped lozenge, regulation brass solid hilt retaining some original gilding and with pierced crossed baton and sword beneath crown within laurel wreath, wire bound fish skin covered grip, in its leather scabbard with brass mounts retaining traces of original gilding, locket engraved R JOHNSTON late BLAND & FOSTER Sword Cutler & Belt Maker to his MAJESTY -68-St James’s St LONDON. Blade 80.5cms. Good condition.
^ Scarce WIVR 1831 Pattern General Officers Mameluke Sword, polished pipe back blade by C MOORE LONDON etched with crowned WIVR interlaced and reversed, crossed flags and extensive scrolling foliage, brass crosspiece with foliage in relief and foliate finials, brass grip strap and Tudor rose rivet heads, 2 piece ivory grips, in its brass scabbard with twin hanging rings. Blade 82.5cms. Good condition.
^ Unusual Indian Army Officers Sword c.1850, pipe back mirror polished blade by MOORE & HAYES 39 St. James’s St, LONDON, engraved brass crosspiece of mameluke type, one piece ivory grip pierced at the pommel with brass thimbles, and retaining its gold bullion dress knot (detatched), in its steel scabbard. Blade 82cms. Good condition, blade retains nearly all its original mirror polish, dress knot worn, scabbard cleaned.
British 1855 Pattern Lancaster Sword Bayonet, black chequered two piece grip with brass cross guard and muzzle ring. The top of the bayonet handle is stamped with numbers “107”. Housed in the original leather scabbard with brass mounts. Straight pipe backed blade with various Victorian acceptance and WD stamps to the base and spine. Blade measures 61cm in length. Overall remains in very good condition.

QOHldrs officers' three-piece bonnet-badge in silver-plate worn from 1968, and an ORs' two-piece badge of similar pattern in anodised metal and (later) in white metal with collar-badges, brass shoulder-titles, a piper's headdress badge and a first pattern sporran-badge (as for Cameron Highlanders). Relic from the B17 Flying Fortress Tondalayo, to include the turret frame section glass, shell casings pipe work, the Tondalayo was returning from a leaflet drop over Amsterdam, Rotterdam and Utrecht, the tragedy occurred when the Bomber was flying home at the same time as two German planes, the resulting confusion caused the anti aircraft guns to hit the Tondalayo, the pilot had to take the plane down for a crash landing but was then hit again near Woodbridge, it was at this point the order to bail was given, leaving pilot and co- pilot, Lieutenant Col Earle J. Aber & Lieutenant Maurice J. Harper to attempt to land the plane, both men perished on the night of March 4th 1945, the crash site is near to the West side of Parkeston in the river Stour mudflats, together with two shell casings from a 20mm cannon shell from a P-38 Lighting, this aircraft crashed adjacent to the A120 Dovercourt after being shot down by a Harwich anti aircraft gun
