A quantity of small parts from Junkers 88 A-14 3E+HM of KG-6 which crashed at Hare (or Hoare) Hill, Balerno, near Edinburgh on 24th March 1943, including anodised pipe junction stamped “NW16 Argus” etc, an anodised bracket stamped with serial numbers, a 15” solid alloy boat shaped piece with embossed serial numbers and remains of pale blue paint, 3 instrument or engine labels, small alloy fragments, piece of leather flying suit (?), etc.
An Ed VII Indian Army 1897 pattern infantry officer’s sword, straight fullered black, 33”, etched with crowned ERI cypher and wreath on one side, and crowned Royal Arms and wreath on the other all in scrolled, strapwork panels, regulation semi bowl pierced guard incorporating crowned ERI cypher and with turn over inner edge, plain pommel, chequered backstrap, wirebound polished dark wood grip; basically GC (no scabbard, blade some wear and light pitting); and an 1822 infantry sword with plain pipe back blade (hilt broken). A French percussion conversion of a 12 bore Model 1822 musket, adapted for sporting use, 53” overall, barrel 38” stamped at the breech “C de 18”, date “1833” and later B’ham black powder proof, the lock marked “Mre Rle de St Etienne”, the walnut stock cut down just forward of the rear barrel band, with steel mounts, single ramrod pipe fitted directly to the barrel near the muzzle, and original steel ramrod. GWO & basically GC, the lock good (the barrel and mounts moderately pitted overall with some surface rust
A Victorian silver mounted pipe, W H Newman Ltd, Birmingham 1898, a carved meerschaum pipe with amber coloured mouth piece, 7.5cm long and an Art Deco lady's cigarette holder, 10.5cm wide, each within original fitted cases along with a pewter mounted specimen magnifying glass with ebonised handle (4) CONDITION REPORT: The wooden handle is loose from the metal collar but no losses. General age wear patina to metal surface. Lens grubby but ok.
