Pair of Meissen Street Musician Figures, both in 18th century attire, the lady dressed in patterned skirt and jacket with a lilac apron and white, flowered scarf over a frilled cap, playing a hurdy-gurdy; the gentleman, of more dishevelled appearance, wears a matching jacket with ragged lilac trousers, white stockings, mis-matched shoes and a black hat with a hole in the crown, playing bagpipes; both standing on rocky, grassy bases with white and gilt rococo supports; 13 inches high; blue crossed swords, impressed and incised numbers to the undersides, c 1895 (a/f lady's forefinger missing, minor chips to front base edge, gentleman's jacket chipped to corner and chanter pipe part missing)

INDIAN FIGURES. Three Indian ivory figures, two musicians & a four-armed goddess. Tallest 13cm. CONDITION REPORTS: 1. Musician with bare legs - this figure has some fine, natural cracking along the grain of the ivory, especially down the arms and legs. The pipe has broken off at the point furthest from the body, but there are no other losses or repairs. 2. Musician with cloak - this figure has lost the pipe instrument (the holes can be clearly seen). Otherwise, apart from some age cracks, this figure is in original condition. 3. Goddess figure - two of the 'petals' on the base have been chipped - the rest are intact. The hands and arms appear to be intact. The very top point of the finial on the headdress appears to be rubbed/worn. There are a few natural stress cracks, but generally the condition is good.
* JOHN MACLAUCHLAN MILNE RSA (SCOTTISH 1885 - 1957), SANNOX BAY, ARRAN oil on canvas, signed 51cm x 61cm (20 x 24 inches) Framed Label verso: T & R Annann & Sons, Ltd., Glasgow. Note: It was supposedly on this beach that Milne met his second wife Elsie in the early 1940s. According to Milne's relatives, Elsie was walking along the beach with her sister when she saw a dapper looking gentleman wearing tweed and smoking a pipe walking towards them. They stopped to greet each other and introduce themselves as was customary. On parting, Elsie turned to her sister and said 'I am going to marry that man'. In 1946 Milne and Elsie's married. From their white-washed house on the top of the hill at High Corrie they had a view down to Sannox Bay. It was one of Milne's favourite views which he painted from various different spots on the hillside and sometimes lower down the hill.
A W.W.1 Royal Flying Corps Trench Art 1916 brass shell-case Jar and cover, applied with R.F.C. badge, 4?in (12.25cm) high, and a mahogany and brass pipe rack with Bomb Disposal badge flanked by two large bullets, inscribed "Presented to Flt. Lt. P. G. Knight R.A.F. by the Defence EOD School", together with a quantity of various items including grenade, goggles, antique brass powder flask, cannon ball, plan for D. H. Tiger Moth. 82A. 1-14th Scale Flying Model, etc (a lot)
A green glass épergne, the central tulip shaped bowl surrounded by three other tulip shaped bowls and three hanging baskets on barley-twist canes with a flared bowl to the base, together with a yellow glass épergne with three bowls, an amber glass walking stick and a large Nailsea type cranberry and white enamelled glass pipe CONDITION REPORTS Larger epergne - height approx. 62 cm, width approx. 44 cm, overall with general wear and scuffs, some roughness and irregularities to tips, a large crack to one of the bowl/flutes, but otherwise appears in reasonable order. Smaller epergne - height approx. 28 cm, width approx. 26 cm, overall with some general wear and scuffs, various blemishes and deposits within the glass, but generally appears in reasonably good order. Both appear to be late 19th/early 20th century.
