19th century Japanese ivory okimono, a seated man smoking a pipe with a boy in a kitchen, Meiji period, 21 cms wide x 18 cms high, Provenance; Deceased estate. A 19th century bone pipe case together with a puppy netsuke, the first carved in low relief with a lady accompanied by two children filling a water bucket from a spring below a pine tree, 21.5cm (8.5 in), the interior of the puppy's mouth tinted pink, 3.5cm (1.25 in) high (3) The cavity ends of the bone from which the puppy has been carved have been filled with carved bone plugs

Thomas Hargreaves [1775-1846]-A miniature portrait of Peter Rothwell [1792-1849],:-bust-length seated in an interior, with short brown hair and sideburns, and brown eyes, wearing a black coat with white cravatsigned and inscribed Liverpool on the backing cardon ivory, 9.5 x 7.9cm.* Notes Peter Rothwell was born in Bolton. His father was founder of the Union Foundry and after he was joined by Benjamin Hick, the firm became Rothwell, Hick & Rothwell. Rothwell was the inventor of the Variable Blast Pipe and a promoter of the Bolton & Leigh Railway which opened in 1838.

A 1796 PATTERN INFANTRY OFFICER'S SWORD, 82.5cm blade by J.J Runkel of Solingen, etched with scrolls, stands of arms, crowned GR cypher and crowned Royal Arms, regulation copper gilt hilt with shell guard and D-shaped knuckle guard, urn-shaped pommel, silver wire bound grip, together with an 1822 Pattern General Officer's sword, 85.5cm pipe-backed with spear point, regulation gilt Gothic hilt, wire bound fishskin grip. A VERY RARE SPECIAL PATTERN CUSTOM'S OFFICIAL'S SWORD BY SALTER, 76cm pipe-backed blade with spear point etched with a crowned Customs motif to either side and a maker's panel, regulation copper gilt stirrup hilt, the langets cast with the crowned Customs motif, plain fishskin grip, contained in its copper gilt mounted black leather scabbard, the upper mount applied with a maker's plaque.

A FIRST WORLD WAR PERIOD TURKISH CAVALRY TROOPER'S SWORD, 84cm slightly curved pipe-backed blade with spear point, struck with a mark at the forte, regulation steel bowl guard with turned rim and pierced with the Star and Crescent motif, two-piece chequered horn grips, together with another similar with traces of green paint to the hilt, also bearing stamp to the forte and with chequered horn grips, and a Model 1909 Turkish or Ottoman belt buckle of brass construction and applied in white metal with an embossed Star and Crescent and the legend Ottoman or Sultan's Army. A RARE MIDDLE EAST DEATH'S HEAD COMMANDO KNIFE TO LT-COL E.J. KINVIG OBE 1ST AIRBORNE, 15cm pipe-backed blade, characteristic brass hilt stamped LIEUT. COL. E. J. KINVIG to one side and SUDAN AND ERITREA 1940-41 on the other, contained in its heavy gauge leather sheath with retaining strap together with associated research. Kinvig variously appears to have been in the RAOC, The Royal Engineers and latterly appears to have been on the staff of the 1st Airborne Division and appears in a Mess Photograph taken at Fulbeck Hall in July 1944 where he is entitled (CREME).
