The typed document contains four paragraphs of five lines each, and is entitled `From…. "AFRICAN TRIO"´, stating in part `Camille, too, seemed lost in thought and, when they had finished dinner, sat on unmoving, forgetting even to light the pipe he had just filled….Then the sound of a sob broke the silence in the room…. Emilienne couldn´t have explained what had come over her…. Vintage signed and inscribed sepia postcard photograph, the image being a reproduction of a caricature of Bruce standing in a three-quarter length pose smoking a pipe and with his hands in his trousers. Signed in bold blue fountain pen ink to a light area of the background and dated 1945 in his hand. VG

DARWELL JANE: (1879-1967) American actress, Academy Award winner for Best Supporting Actress in 1940 for her role as Ma Joad in The Grapes of Wrath. A rare vintage signed sepia 7.5 x 9.5 photograph of Darwell in a half-length pose, holding a pipe in one hand, in costume as Aunt Ri Hyar from the Western drama film Ramona (1936). Signed by Darwell in dark fountain pen ink to a clear area at the head of the image, further identifying her character name and film title in her hand.
