JIMI HENDRIX OWNED AND USED PIPE AND WOODSTOCK RECEIPT. A two part wooden pipe, owned and used by Jimi Hendrix including during his time at Woodstock. Also a receipt form dated 1969. Provenance: from the collection of 'roadie to the stars' and member of the Hendrix management team Tappy Wright .Includes 2014 letter of provenance signed by Tappy Wright in which he details how the pipe was sent to the 'Anim' London office, and later came into the possession of Tappy Wright after the office was cleared of Hendrix' belongings.
A brass barrelled flintlock blunderbuss pistol, by J Probin, c 1770, 14” overall, swamped barrel 8” with Tower private proofs; signed rounded lock with swan neck cock and unbridled frizzen; walnut fullstock, the brass mounts with double line engraved borders, including long spurred butt cap, flat side plate, and plain oval escutcheon; with plain wooden ramrod. GWO & C (ramrod tail pipe dented). Plate 4
A brass barrelled flintlock blunderbuss pistol, by W Reynolds, London, c 1770, 11½” overall, swamped 2 stage barrel 6” with London and maker’s proofs and traces of “London” at breech; signed rounded lock with double line border, swan neck cock, and unbridled frizzen; fullstocked with brass mounts including engraved long spurred butt cap and openwork sideplate. GWO & basically GC (slightly worn overall, stock refinished, cock, part of fore end, ramrod pipe, and steel ramrod replaced)
A 20 bore brass barrelled flintlock holster pistol, by Segalas, London, c 1720, 16” overall, 3 stage barrel 9½” with London proofs and engraved with scrolls and “Segalas London”; signed banana shaped brass lock with unbridled frizzen, the cock and plate engraved with scrolls; walnut fullstock with brass mounts including large long spurred butt cap engraved with scrolls and serpent and with grotesque mask finial, foliate openwork sideplate, trigger guard engraved with scrolls and monster head and having foliate finial, and baluster ramrod pipe; with brass tipped wooden ramrod. GWO & C (some wear to metalwork, restocked probably c 1770, the fore end forward of the lock replaced, probably during its working life, when the ramrod throat pipe was also replaced). Plate 5
A silver mounted 22 bore brass barrelled flintlock holster pistol, by Grice, London, c1791, 14½” overall, half octagonal barrel 9” with Tower private proofs and engraved “London” in script; stepped brass lock signed in script; walnut fullstock inlaid with silver scrolls and stylised shell around the breech tang, and with silver mounts including flower embossed butt cap HM B’ham 1790, engraved trigger guard with floral finial HM B’ham 1791, oval escutcheon engraved with initials, small simple sideplate and ramrod pipe; with replacement plain wooden ramrod. An interesting brass barrelled flintlock blunderbuss pistol, apparently assembled in the late 18th or early 19th century from the major parts of a late 17th century pistol by Ed. Nicholson and a late 18th century lock by R. Davis, 17” overall, large slightly swamped 3 stage barrel 9¾” with London and maker’s proofs, engraved “Ed. Nicholson Fecit”, and with acanthus leaves and scrolls at breech and muzzle; the flat stepped lock engraved with dog tooth borders and scrolls and signed “R. Davis”; plain walnut fullstock with brass mounts, comprising long spurred butt cap engraved with scrolls and snarling dogs” heads, strawberry leaf engraved trigger guard (rear strap shortened), engraved wavy sideplate, baluster ramrod pipe, and with plain wooden ramrod with iron worm. GWO & clean condition. Accompanied by a copy of a magazine article by Bill Harriman. Plate 4

A 40 bore percussion sporting rifle, by George Gibbs of Bristol, 46” overall, well rebrowned slender octagonal barrel 30”, with folding leaf rearsight and sling swivel loop on middle ramrod pipe; the foliate engraved lock signed within scroll; walnut halfstock with horn fore end cap, chequered fore end and wrist, engraved steel mounts including scrolled grip to trigger guard, and replacement ramrod. A 19th century Staffordshire Toby jug, in seated pose with jug of beer in hand and wearing faded lilac jacket, yellow breeches and black tricorn hat, h.26cm; together with a 19th century treacle-glazed Staffordshire Toby jug, and two Nelson character jugs (4).All with some damage and/or imperfections.Pink toby – some obvious and unpainted repairs (notably to the tricorn), some chips and missing fingers, crazing and hairlines throughout.Green toby – pipe no longer in hand, tricorn OK, large firing crack to handle, large crack to underside, some crazing throughout.Nelson jug – some cracks and hairlines (notably to spout), crude repair to spout, paint rubbed in places, crazed throughout.Bicorn Nelson – restoration to het, crazed, paint rubbed, some hairlines, chip to upper lip.
