All items with some wear and scuffs, some with chips and losses including some chips and losses to circular plaque, to the porcelain carriage figure group, and some damage and losses to baskets, various chips and damage to the large arbour figure groups (these are approx. 45 cm high). "Tramp with dog" figure with some small frits and wear but generally appears sound. "Boy with books" with some frits and chip to ear. "Boy with ducks" with several small chips and a larger chip to hat. "Girl with floral decorated white skirt" has hand broken off and the object she was holding in her hand broken off and missing. "Boy with guitar" with some small chips. Cherub figure with some damage and losses. "Boy smoking pipe" with wear and scuffs, but appears sound. "Girl with patched skirt and chicken in purple basket" with various chips and losses and appears fairly crudely made and lightweight. "Boy with green hat" also very lightweight and with various chips and damage.

A VICE REGAL OFFICERS FULL DRESS (Mtd) TUNIC & WAISTCOAT. A C1910's Vice Regal Officers Mounted Full Dress Tunic in red with black collar and cuffs. White piping and a central black rope decoration to the collar, with Edward V11 buttons. Note attached to the tunic states it was worn by at least three officers in different periods of the 1910-20 & 30's respectively. Red (8) pipe decoration rope adornments to the front, mostly white piping to the rear with buttons covered in protective tissue paper.

A PIPE BACK OFFICERS SWORD WORN BY LT J A Russell 32nd Inf. An 1822 pattern officers pipe-back sword with curved single-edged 32.1/2" blade. Brass hilt and guard with inset cartouche of The East India Company, in its steel scabbard with two hanging loops. The repainted steel scabbard has a note attached reading sword worn by Lt John Abraham Russell of the 32nd Native Infantry C1825. He retired on HP as a Captain in 1835. See Illustration

18th century Pontypool tobacco box the cover with inset magnifying glass, and inscription Bright fol through this your pipe will light and help old age to read and write, 11cmProvenance purchased from Rogers de Rin, London SW3, June 1992Part of the Michael Shrubb (1934-2013) collection of snuff boxes. Michael Shrubb was a renowned ornithologist and author who investigated the effects of farming on British birds. He was born at Sidlesham near Chichester and in 1968 he moved to Llanwrtyd Wells in Wales and later to Aberdovey on the Welsh coast. For many years he edited Welsh bird report and Welsh birds and in 2012 he received a Lifetime Achievement award from the Welsh ornithological Society. He was a co-founder of the Sussex Ornithological Society and served as a council member of the RSPB and of The British Trust for Ornithology.
