Europe. Jansson (Jan), Imperium Caroli Magni, c.1650s, uncoloured engraved historical map of Europe, together with three other similar historical maps including Lumen Historiarum per Occidentem, Descriptio Peregrinationis D.Pauli Apostoli, Gallia Vetus, all uncoloured engravings, some with ornamental title cartouches and biblical scenes, each approx. 380 x 520 mm, plus one other print (5).
Prints & Maps. Jenkins (J., pub.), Centre of the British Army at La Haye Sainte, June 18th, 1815, pub. March 1st, 1816, hand coloured aquatint view of the Battle of Waterloo by T.Sutherland after W.H., descriptive text to lower margin, some abrasion with a few small holes, approx. 290 x 370 mm, framed and glazed, together with Keere (Pieter van den), Holy Island, Garnsey, Farne, Jarsey, c.1610, hand coloured engraved map with some light dampstaining, approx. 90 x 125 mm, not laid down, framed and glazed, and other maps and prints including a Baxter print, Owen/Bowen road maps, county maps by Archer, etc. (22).
Baxter (George). The Day before Marriage, pub. George Baxter, March 1, 1854, col. Baxter print, approx. 37 x 26cms (14.5" x 10.25"), framed and glazed, together with another similar entitled The Lovers' Letterbox, pub. George Baxter, August 30th, 1856, col. Baxter print, some fading, framed and glazed, plus two others, incl. a version of The Small Bride, printed as a music title page, and another showing a couple in 18th-c. dress in a garden landscape, both framed and glazed. A Spode Caramanian series covered sauce tureen and pickle dish: the oval sauce tureen printed in blue with the Entrance To Ancient Granary scene, overall length 18.9cm, printed and impressed upper-case marks (tureen body damaged and riveted); the diamond-shaped pickle dish with a fragment of the print from the dinner plate; length 12.6cm, printed lower-case mark (some crazing and discolouration); circa 1810-30.
A Wedgwood 'Queen's ware' dated commemorative Liverpool-printed bullet-shape teapot and cover, printed in black and painted in colours with a vignette of THE FARMERS ARMS and with initials AJ, and 1796, the reverse with a print of a farmyard with haymakers in the distance, the cover with flower finial (repaired)
