John Linnell (1792 - 1882), oil on board - The Windmill, cattle and herders watering below a windmill in extensive landscape, in gilt and ebonised frame, 46cm x 59cm, together with a handwritten letter dated December 22nd 18?3, regarding the collection of two paintings (this possibly being one) and stating that Linnell wished to be paid in 'Bank of England notes at right figure and not a cheque'...signed Yours Faithfully J. Linnell, also included is a print published by The Art Portfolio, London. See The Tate Collection for the same image which was exhibited in 1845 and presented by Robert Vernon.
