Erotica - Two mid 19th Century French black-lacquered papier-mâché circular boxes, the first 'Les Cadeaux Ecossois', enclosing erotic print to underside of lid and with removable liner concealing two further erotic prints, one entitled 'L'Attaque Vigoureuse', 8.5cm diameter, together with a second, 'Apparition du Diable' with erotic print to underside of cover, and a third box, 'A L'Honneur Francais', without erotic print (3) Condition: All with general signs of wear and handling including dints and minor losses to edges of cover. Local Interest - Loxton, Samuel (1857-1922) - Interesting folio of over one hundred unframed ink drawings of Bristol landmarks, interior scenes, etc, many with pencil annotations, presumably as instructions to print makers, sold with note of Provenance dated 1994 from the previous owner (deceased) who states 'I bought a portfolio from Georges Bookshop described as '120 drawings etc relating to Bristol'. In fact, they are drawings by Samuel Loxton for the Bristol Observer…', assorted sizes to approximately 35 x 25cm, the folio with half green calf and marbled boards, 43.5cm x 29.5cm Condition: Outer boards of folio display rubbing to spine and corners, scuffing to surface of front and rear boards. Contents display some discolouration but overall are in generally good unframed condition, sold uncollated and without guarantee, we recommend viewing this lot in person or telephoning the office for more information. **General condition consistent with age
