* JOHN STEVEN DEWS (BRITISH b. 1949), THE BIG CLASS - 1930 limited edition lithographic print on paper, signed and numbered 445/600 in pencil image size 51cm x 71cm, overall size 74cm x 98cm Framed and under glass. Note: J. Steven Dews is a maritime artist. He was born in Yorkshire in 1949. The continued desirability and international critical acclaim that his work achieves places him as one of the most successful living maritime artists in the world. Following his graduation, Dews built up an astonishing portfolio for his first exhibition in 1976 and, on the exhibition’s first night, virtually his entire collection was sold. The following year he held an exhibition in San Francisco which also sold out. Since then, he has continued to exhibit at leading art galleries in London and around the world. He now lives in New Zealand and when not painting, he sails. Christie's have achieved almost £60,000 for one of his original paintings and in the last few years, some of his signed limited edition prints have sold for more than £300 at auction.
Jackanory Gareth Floyd (b.1940) Collection of fourteen black and white print illustrations. Various sizes. 25.5 x 38 cms max. Many mounted on board. Gareth Floyd worked on illustrations for the BBC series Jackanory for nearly 15 years. The whole collection comprises over 1,200 illustrations, which have been consigned to this auction by the artist. All sizes are approximate.
Circa 1950s Cotton Printed Day Dresses, comprising a pink, green and blue floral dress, buttons to the bodice, collar and capped sleeves; blue floral sleeveless cotton dress with gathered skirt; St Michael white cotton short sleeve dress with stripes of blue flowers, buttons to the bodice with belt (size 34'' bust); another labelled Marspun teal and white spotted dress, with buttons to the bodice and short sleeves; grey and white spotty day dress, with collar and scalloped button front and belt; Banner cotton short sleeved dress with blue, brown, white spots, buttons to the front; blue rose printed dress with capped sleeves; green cotton dress printed with vases and piped seams; cotton sundress printed with a red, black and white 'jewelled' print; Jack Tookey Original, Ireland pink and white cotton shirt dress with long sleeves; Brydonia Garment brown and orange cotton dress with three-quarter length sleeves, pleated skirt (11) . Pink, green and blue floral dress - belt missing, some discolouration, needs some stitches to the side opening. Blue floral dress - couple of marks to the straps, very slight discolouration around the sleeve holes, belt missing. St Michael dress - some discolouration to the back of the sleeves, slight pink mark to the chest. St Michael Marspun dress - slight wear and belt missing. Grey and white spotty dress - slight fading to the collar and shoulders and slightly to the underarms. Banner dress - slight wear. Bue rose printed dress - alterations to the bodice, stitched repair to the waist and pleats on the left hand seam. Green cotton dress - some discolouration and wear. Red, white and black printed dress - belt missing and slight wear. Jack Tookey dress - belt missing, some fading to the back of the collar and slight wear. Brydonia dress - no blet, slight wear and zip stuck.
