Front darts have been let out at waist, beading is good. Bust 36in.

A rare John Galliano printed felt invitation, Spring-Summer, 1991, printed to one side with a female figure with red cape, headdress formed from car number plate, playing cards and clothes adorned with pin ups, Greek statue, Marilyn Monroe and a target, the reverse with seat plan for the show, Wednesday 17 October, 1990, 19.30 hours - Salle Perrault, Cour Carre du Louvre, Rue de L'Amiral de Coligny, Paris 75001, 63 by 44cm Galliano defected from London fashion week to show in Paris for his AW 1990-91 collection. This invitation was for his second Paris show. Although his studio at this time was still located in London his eyes were on Paris where he was to move in 1992 with his new backer Faycal Amor. CONDITION REPORT: 5 moth holes in the seating plan area and light scuffing. Main pictorial print is good condition. Creases from having been folded.

Perspiration stains to lining at underarms. The odd small spot stain but these are hidden within the print. Overall good.

Three brass glove irons, circa 1900, two stamped 'James Ward, Worcester Ltd', the other 'WH. Hallett & Son, Halson Works Yeovil'; together with a print out of information relating to the Alwyn glove factory, 50cm long (4) Glove irons are traditionally used during the last stages of manufacture to remove any creases in the leather after the glove has been stitched together. Provenance: The Alwyn glove factory, Worcester, was established in 1963 by Les Winfield, who's father had also been a glover. In 1986 the company was commissioned by Prince Andrew to make a pair of uniform gloves to wear on his wedding day. Alwyn gloves were also worn by Margaret Thatcher and other high-profile clients. As the historic Worcester glove industry declined, Mr. Winfield became the last glover in the region, working into his 90s with only one employee, and using antique equipment (such as these glove irons). He died in 2015. For similar examples of glove irons, see 'Gloves and Glove-making' by Mike Redwood, p.42. CONDITION REPORT: good.
