A 20th century polished gilt brass striking and repeating carriage clock, having push button repeat and alarm, the matt gilt dial bearing retailers signature for Camerden & Forster, New York, having Arabic enamel chapter ring over alarm setting dial, the barrel movement striking two gongs and platform lever escapement, 16.5cm, top glass loose. The clock sets, winds and is ticking, the alarm fuction only strikes the hours - in need of attention.Note: the top glass panel is loose and needs re-attaching

Barrett & Sons, London - A late 19th century Sterling silver and blue glass boudoir carriage clock, circa 1896, of traditional rectangular form, the unsigned circular white dial, 35mm diameter within a silver bezel, with black Roman numerals, blued spade and whip hands and bar minute track, unsigned mechanical key wind movement, case with simple hinged handle to the top, each side with a panel of dark blue glass over a textured ground in the guilloché style within silver borders, verso hinged at 9 o'clock, raised on four ball feet, signed to the underside in addition to casemaker's mark of Henry Stuart Brown and London hallmarks for Sterling silver, 6 x 8 x 4.5cm with the handle down, presented with the winding keyMovement - Appears to be in working order. Winds satisfactorily and the hands move freely, if a little stiffly, in both directions. Has not been tested for timekeeping or endurance. Hairline crack to the dial between the centre hole and 3 o'clockCase - Door opens and closes satisfactorily, and the hinge does not appear strained. Hinge to the top handle, fully operational. Stands on a flat surface with a slight wobble. Hallmarks and engraving clear and readable. Retaining screws attaching the base to the movement are likely not originals and do no match each other. Some light surface scratches to all the panels, as to be expected. Some minor damage to the top glass plate in the right hand rear corner. Crack to the glass plate on the front between 9 and 3 o'clock. Top, back and right hand side plates both a little loose in the mounts. Some denting and scuffing to the frame top left-hand side.
