A French brass carriage clock by Richard & Co., Grand Sonnerie with repeat mechanism and alarm, 1969 grams, cased. Height excluding carrying handle 14.3 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The clock winds on both trains and is ticking away. It has two gongs and no bell. The alarm mechanism seems to wind correctly. We have not had the repeat mechanism or the Grand Sonnerie mechanism working. The clock face is in generally very good order with no visible damage. There does not appear to be any damage to any of the glass panels. The rear door fits correctly. The original lacquered finish to the clock is perished in places and the outer case certainly requires a clean. The carrying case is in very poor condition and is quite badly damaged.
A late 19th century French Champleve enamel and brass carriage clock, timepiece only. Height excluding carrying handle 11.8 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The movement is fully wound. It does however tick for approximately 10 secs when shaken. The movement is very dirty and requires a good clean. The case is in structurally good condition but the brasswork has lost much of its original gilding and lacquer. The glass panels are extremely dirty but do not appear to have any damage. The enamel work is in good condition. The face is tarnished and dirty, the escapement is original.

An unusual French gilt brass pillar case carriage clock, early 20th century, by Duverdrey & Bloquel, the white enamel Roman dial signed indistinctly, single train movement with lion trademark, within a pillar style case with fluted and turned columns and pierced trellis and florette frieze panels to upper and base sections, bevelled glass, 6in. A fine late 19th century champlevé enamel carriage clock by Maurice and Co., the anglaise riche case with Corinthian capitals and dentil friezes, decorated with champlevé enamel to the top, columns, base and handle, with foliate cast pierced gilt brass mounts to the side panels under bowed glass, conforming floral mask surrounding the silvered Arabic chapter ring with black painted numerals within circlets and filigree roundel centre mount, blued steel hands, signed by the retailer, Hall & Co., Paris', the eight day twin train movement striking a gong on the hour and half hour, no. 4761, signed 'E. M. & Co.' to backplate, with silvered platform to cut bimetallic balance with lever escapement, gong striker to back plate, 8in. (20.25cm.) high, 4¼in. (11.4cm.) wide. * This clock is by one of the most important makers of the late 19th century, E. Maurice of Charlot 95, Paris, examples of which were exhibited in the Paris exhibition of 1889.
