19th century French miniature, gilt metal and porcelain carriage clock, the four sides inset with turquoise Sevres type plaques decorated with figures highlighted in gilt, with original leather carrying case 10cm high. plaques no visible chips cracks or restoration, some ware and loss to the gildinghas been seen running but we do not guarantee this or that it keeps good time
French 19thC Petite Sonnerie Gilt Metal Repeating Carriage Clock of large proportions, in the English Style. The architectural case with dentil cornice over fluted columns, shuttered gilt brass rear cover and moulded base. The white enamel dial with spade hands within an engraved gilt mask. The gilt lever platform escapement with cut and compensated bimetallic balance with 24ct gold timing screws. The twin train spring barrel movement striking and repeating the hours and quarters on two steel gongs. 20 cms - 8 inches high. Excellent condition and in working order.
Arsene Margaine Very Fine Example of a Push Repeat Gilt 8 Day Striking Carriage Clock circa 1880. Stamped with his logo/ beehive number. He had workshops in Paris,was awarded a silver medal at the Paris Exhibition in 1889 and awarded a gold medal in 1900. With original true split, bimetallic balance and strikes the quarters and hours on a mellow coiled gong. Large bevelled top glass to see the escapement, the white porcelain dial reads 'Howard L James, London, Retailer to the Queen'. In working order.

Roi Paris Eight Day Gilt Brass Carriage Clock A wonderful and rare example circa 1830's/40's The eight-day two train movement with two-plane 'chaffcutter' escapement and three-arm monometallic balance set between the plates and striking the hours on a bell mounted to the backplate. Featuring a rectangular engine-turned silvered brass dial with Roman numerals and radial design to centre and 'watered-silk' infill. The gilt brass caddy moulded case with hinged, slender baton handle above upward sliding front glass for winding. Signed Paul Garnier to dial and to back plate, 6 3/4 inches high, 4 1/2 inches wide, 4 inches deep. Please see accompanying image

A FRENCH BRASS CARRIAGE CLOCK, GROHE, WIGMORE ST LONDON, LATE 19TH C the movement retaining the original platform lever escapement and striking on a bell, backplate stamped GROHE A PARIS, in gorge case, 12.3cm h excluding handle, tooled leather case++Dusty, dirty but complete, movement not running, possibly over-wound, striking the hours and passing half hour correctly when the hands turned, gilding rubbed and discoloured from handling. The enamel dial undamaged, back door lacking the small knob ,replaced by a bent pin, all five of the bevelled glass panels undamaged. Leathr case dusty with slight scuff marks, purple velvet interior frayed and stained. Retaining both the gilt brass flaps which secure the lid but one lacking the turn-anchor so only secured by the other. No engraving or erasure of initials or inscription
A French brass cased carriage clock, late 19th century, having an enamelled dial with Roman and Arabic numerals, retailed by Ford and Son, Hastings and St Leonards, chiming on a gong, with presentation inscription to "Percy C Beardsley, with Christian Love from The Children and Friends of The CSS Mission, Hastings and St Leonards September 3rd 1888" and with travel case, overall height 15.5 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The serial number is 259.
