A French brass eight day striking repeater carriage clock, number 2323. The case has brass pillars on each corner and an elaborate border around the top of the case. It has lever platform escapement striking on a single gong. The winding and hand setting is through a rear glazed door. It has a gilded dial with enamel chapter ring, numeric figures and blue steel Fleur De Lys style hands. It stands at 21cm high, 10cm wide and 9cm deep

A RARE FRENCH EIGHT DAY CLOCK, FIVE MINUTE REPEATER CARRIAGE CLOCK, in a gilded gorge case with original bracket feet and blanking plate, the bevelled oval top glass shows the original lever platform and is marked in respect of the front push button, hour repeat, and on the reverse opposite, a second push button, 5 minute repeat; the 5 minute repeat is controlled by a star wheel and snail on the back plate over the hours by a normal rack system on a blued steel coil gong, enamelled dial with Roman numerals (minute hand a replacement) inscribed on the back "Patent SJHETY" "RCLLER" and numbered 2201. 19cm to top of handle (7.5in), C1880's, sold with key. *** For further information see ALLIX AND BONNERT, Carriage Clocks, their History and Development, page 198 (description and photograph).
A late 19th Century French ebonised and burr walnut inset Carriage Alarm Clock, the plated movement with chaff cutter escapement and bell set to the base, to a Roman enamelled dial with outside minute track and blued steel hands and alarm subsidiary at 6, in a plinth shaped case, with cast brass carry handle and raised on four bun feet, bearing a paper label for Thos Eames, Watch and Clock Maker, Paddington, height 8”
19th Century large Carriage Clock, with circular enamelled dial, on an engine turned silver metal face, with Grand Sonnerie Movement, striking on two gongs, the gong standard stamped F.D., back plate stamped D.C., and inscribed, “E. White, Paris” and numbered 16398 and contained within a brass and bevelled glass gorge case, 20cms, (8”). .
