He died in 1868 when he was succeeded by his nephew.

The trademark of D.H was changed to C.H in circa 1900 when Charles Hour took sole ownership. They were well-known maker`s of carriage & mantel clocks with an address at 7 Rue Saint-Anastase, Paris.
