A late 19thC Dent brass repeater carriage clock, Royal Exchange London, circular enamel dial bearing Roman and Arabic numerals, subsidiary alarm dial, twin barrel movement, with coil strike, the case of conventional form, with a fascia with foliate engraving, number 236, cased, 13cm high. The clocks movement is both ticking and striking

A 20th century gilt brass carriage clock, with push button repeat and alarm, the gilt metal dial with central open rosette and set with twelve Arabic cartouche numerals, the chapter ring bearing the retailer's signature of Camerden & Forster, New York, with small subsidiary dial, bevel glass top and sides and swivel carry handle, height to top of handle 19.5cm, length 10cm, width 8.6cm.Condition Report: This has certainly been well looked after. Has been wound and is in working order. A little wear to the case, no cracks or chips to the glass. A good clean example.

Duverdry & Bloquel, France a brass carriage clock the eight-day duration timepiece movement having a platform lever escapement with the backplate stamped with the hand setting arrow as used by Duverdry & Bloquel of Saint Nicolas d'Aliermont, the white enamel dial having black Arabic numerals, blued-steel moon hands and brass mask, the brass oval case with curved handle, height 15cm/12cm handle up/down.

RMS Medina, 1917 A superior carriage clock with gilt brass case. Probably English. Case height 14cm, maximum width 12cm The Medina was built by Caird & Co of Greenock for the P&O Steam Navigation Company and was used as a Royal Yacht. She took George V and Queen Mary to the Delhi Durbar in 1911. She would have been a sumptiously appointed vessel. She was torpedoed off Start Point, Devon in April 1917 whilst returning from India en route for London. Her cargo contained the personal belongings of Lord and Lady Carmichael with their collection of art and artifacts accumulated during their time in Bengal in India, where Lord Carmichael had served as Governor. When hit, most of the passengers had already alighted in Plymouth. Six engine room crew were killed in the initial explosion, and they were the only casualties.
