BRUNELOT, PARIS A FRENCH CARRIAGE CLOCK the eight day movement has a lever escapement and strikes the hours and half hours on a gong with push button repeat to the top of the case, the white enamel dial having black Roman hour numerals and blued steel spade hands, contained in gilded Anglaise case with fluting to the handle, height 17cm (handle up). *Jules Brunelot is recorded as working at Rue Oberkampf 10, Paris Circa 1878 when he received an honourable mention at the Paris Exposition.
A French brass carriage clock by Drocourt, the enamelled mask dial signed Howell James & Co London Paris, and with subsidiary alarm dial, in platform lever escapement and striking on a silvered bell, in corniche case with repeat button at the top, 14cm h, Drocourt trademark and No8612 to the backplate, c1880 . Short vertical hairline crack with slight discoloration to the lower part of the enamel mask dial but in otherwise excellent overall condition, retaining the original lacquer with slight wear on the handle and top. The glass sides undamaged, the movement apparently complete. Small solder repair to the bell/strike. The escapement original. The movement in need of cleaning and reluctant to start
