Alice Liddell was the inspiration for Alice in Wonderland/see illustration CONDITION REPORT: Serial no: 17647, currently not working. No damage, panels slightly corroded. The clock strikes on a gong, the movement is intact and the escapement appears to be the problem

Has been working but we cannot guarantee this will continue.

Fine quality early 20th century carriage clock, with eight day repeat movement striking on a gong and silvered dial with Arabic numerals, in a silver mounted tortoiseshell case, with applied cartouche EMT, top mounted swing handle, on four bun feet (London 1913) Maker H.A & C. In the original Goldsmiths & Silversmiths Co Ltd carrying case. (Keys present) 15cm overall height.Condition report: General overall condition is very good, tortoiseshell has minor surface scratching but no major damage or visible signs of repair. Silver mounts are good, some minor surface scratching and wear, no visible damage or repair. Hallmarks are clear. Movement appears to be in working order, although we have not had it going for any length of time. Outer case is dirty and damaged, some surface leather is missing, surface is scuffed and top handle is broken. Interior is dirty and worn in places. Two keys are not original. Photographs to follow.
