A Carriage Clock having a heavy brass and bevelled glass case with a brass face, the chapter ring marked with the hours in Arabic numerals and having a two-train movement striking the hours on a gong, ****AND WITH REPEATER BUTTON & MECHANISM**** 3 3/8'' wide x 3'' deep x 5 5/16'' high (handle down), requiring service/lubrication. ****Now has been wound and is running well, but rack/count mechanism requires a light spring as it does not count down correctly****
Unusual mid 19th Century English engraved gilt brass single-fusee carriage clock, circa 1840, having a silvered 2-inch arched Roman dial with engraved scroll edging and foliate surround, the engraved rear door enclosing Royal Arms 'Patent' plaque, chain fusee timepiece movement with early escapement marked 'Slow' and 'Fast to the bow-breakfront rear platform edge, blued screw and engraved internal floor, case with engraved sides and base, 12.5cm high excluding associated handleCondition report: Condition - minor scratch to dial around VII. hands may be replacements. We had initially not been able to inspect movement – solid sides and rear door – but have just unscrewed the finials and released the roof, and can confirm it’s chain fusee. Cannot get a good look due to the platform escapement but the chain appears to be on the barrel without any crossing/tangles.Movement not tested or warranted, balance wheel runs freely. Handle (and possibly finials) of later date. A good carriage clock with repeat, the 5.5 cm diameter dial with Arabic numerals and painted floral festoons within a pierced brass mask, fitted an eight day movement striking on a gong, marked Patent S J rety Polier, Paris and numbered 5613, in a brass four pillar case, with bird handle, the case with Corinthian type columns, on bun type feet, 20.5 cm highCurrently running happily, beveled glass panels all look good, dial good, nice and clean, with a key, the back door with a paper label Fernier?
An early 20th Century French miniature carriage timepiece by Golay Leresche, Geneva and Paris, the white enamel roman dial fitted movement with platform lever escapement, in a lacquered brass case with hinged handle and bevelled glass panels, within leather-covered travelling case, the clock 7.5cms high.
A late 19th Century aesthetic movement fine lacquered brass cased carriage clock, attributed to Achille Brocot, Paris, the painted and gilt ceramic arabic dial decorated with moon phase and stylized floral design, the side panels decorated with the sun, butterfly and open flowers opposing moon, moss and closed flowers, the unsigned movement with platform lever escapement striking on a coil gong, the case with folding shaped handle, 13cms high. NB: A very similar clock, but a repeater, with a near-matching dial, sold in 2001 for £1000.

Lady Enid Victoria Rachel Fane (1894-1969) the daughter of Lt Col Anthony Mildmay Julian Fane, 13th Earl of Westmorland and Lady Sybil Mary St Clair-Erskine, married, firstly, on 25th August 1914 Major the Hon. Henry Cecil Vane, the eldest son of Henry de Vere Vane, 9th Baron Barnard of Barnard Castle and Lady Catherine Sarah Cecil (1882-1917) Lady Enid Vane married, secondly, on 1 September 1922 Major Herbert Broke Turnor Neck of one glass jar damaged, rim of oval glass jar very slightly nibbled. Provision for another leather wallet now lacking otherwise in superb preservation with hardly any sign of wear, the leather and lining in good condition.
