CAESAR AVGVSTVS DIVI F PATER PATRIAE, laureate head right / Front elevation of the Altar of Lugdunum, decorated with corona civica between laurels, flanked by male figures and Victories on columns facing one another to left and right, [R]OM ET AVG below. RIC 231a; BMCRE 565. 25.92g, 34mm, 11h. Very Fine. An attractive reverse for the type. Rare. Cult worship of Rome and Augustus became a prevalent feature of the provincial cities, with the Altar of Lugdunum dedicated in 12 BC during the time that Augustus' step-son Nero Claudius Drusus was present to oversee the reorganisation of the region's administration. The altar was part of a lavish sanctuary to Tres Galliae, the council of the governorships of Gallia Aquitania, Gallia Belgica and Gallia Lugdunensis. Lugdunum was the permanent administrative centre for the three groups, responsible for maintaining the stability of the area under Roman rule.

An original WWII Second World War military issue canvas bag. The bag belonging to a R.A.F Royal Air Force 2277991 Corporal Kaye. Inscribed on the bag is his step by step journey from Padgate ( England ) to Luxor ( Egypt ) with cartoon drawings of a Middle Eastern gentleman and copy of front cover of the book ' The Two Types ' by Jon. The bag itself having a blue band to middle and brass eyelets to draw the top together.

A 19TH CENTURY AGATE, ENAMEL AND GEM SET CAMEO BROOCH, SIGNED G. BISSINGER, circa 1870, the oval banded agate panel carved to depict the profile of a classical maiden wearing a headdress, signed verso, bordered by a row of mixed and step-cut rubies, within a black enamel frieze highlighted with white and pink enamel scrolls, each centred with an old-cut diamond, framed by an outer row of pearls, gold mounted, (one pearl and drop deficient), (pearls untested for origin), length 4.1cm Georges Bissinger was a German-born gem engraver working in Paris during the second half of the 19th century. Working in the fashionable Renaissance revival taste, Bissinger was awarded a silver medal for cameo carving at the Paris International Exhibition of 1867, and a gold medal at the Vienna Exhibition of 1873. He produced gem carvings for a number of celebrated jewellers of the time, including Carlo Giuliano, John Brogden and Boucheron. Examples of Bissinger's work can be seen at the Victoria & Albert Museum, with an onyx cameo of Marie de Medici, mounted by Giuliano, museum no. 165-1900, and at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, with an agate cameo of Elizabeth I, mounted by Mrs Newman, accession no. 2011.7.
AN EMERALD AND DIAMOND CLUSTER RING, the rectangular step-cut emerald with truncated corners, in double four claw setting, framed by old brilliant-cut diamonds, above a pierced gallery of stylised foliate design, the yellow precious metal mount with bifurcated shoulders, stamped '585', with Austrian gold mark, total diamond weight approximately 2ct, ring size M½ Accompanied by a report issued by Gemmological Certification Services, stating that the emerald is of Colombian origin, with indications of moderate clarity and colour enhancement by a coloured filler, weighing approximately 11ct, measuring approximately 13.7 x 13.1 x 8.7mm, report no. 78160-97, dated 17 July 2018
