An Art Deco sapphire and diamond ring, the central octagonal step cut sapphire (measuring 11.79mm L x 8.4mm W x 6.1mm D), with baguette cut diamonds to stepped shoulders, all set in platinum to a plain polished shank, ring size N, weight 4.7gms CONDITION REPORT: Please note: This sapphire has not been laboratory tested for synthetic or natural origin or for heat treatment, or any other treatment, and does not come with a certificate/report. It is the opinion of the valuer that this stone is of natural origin but this cannot be guaranteed, there are no obvious indicators of heat treatment but again, this cannot be guaranteed without laboratory testing. We are unable to comment on the country of origin. The carat weight is estimated to be between 5.75 carats - 6.00 carats. Buyers are advised to view in person and make their own assessment of the stone before bidding.The central stone is in good order. No fractures, breaks or losses to the stone are visible under 10x magnification. Some minor scratching and very minor nibbles to the facet edges. The colour is a rich, royal blue, and the colour slightly more vibrant in daylight then indoor light. Flat, reflective inclusions are visible through the table with the naked eye when turned under direct light. Other, similar inclusions are visible under 10x around the corners and sides. No windowing is visible when viewing table face up with the naked eye. The claw setting is secure.The diamonds are in good order, no cracks, fractures or losses. Some very small inclusions visible in a couple of the stones at 10x magnification, and no draw of colour can be seen with the naked eye. All settings are secure.Gallery and shoulders in good order, no splitting or signs of repair. Some areas of minor thinning and general wear only.Shank is in good order. Some slight signs of thinning to the base, but no signs of splitting or repair. The inside is stamped 'PLATINUM' and numbered '0303', but there are no other marks to indicate date or makers. There are signs of possible resizing to the shank - please see the additional images for illustration. The ring came with the Boodle & Dunthorne box as pictured, however there is no evidence to associate they are original to each other. This stone has been assessed to be Art Deco, circa. 1930.Additional images have been provided. The first shows the stone under indoor fluorescent lighting. A conical border of concentric wires forming a bombé head with six applied radiating plates, each spitch set with pairs of rectangular step cut or scissor cut synthetic sapphires, to tapered shoulders and a plain shank. Tested as approximately platinum. Head 20.6mm diameter, 23.63g.Finger size J LECondition report: Seven sapphires chipped.Others abraded with worn facet edges.Marks to the mount consistent with wear.Light sanding marks to the back of the shank.

Marked 9ct, pearls untested, 11.50 to 11.80mm wide, 11.86gCondition report: Clasp in working order. Light surface marks commensurate with its age. Table and crown facet edge wear. Some of the wires through the pearls slightly bent.Part of the tongue detached from the push piece - advise that this is repaired prior to being worn.187mm long. A LARGE PAIR OF EDWARDIAN SILVER COLUMNAR CANDLESTICKS, by William Hutton & Sons Ltd, London 1906 and 1907, each with stop-fluted Corinthian column and beaded stepped square base, weighted. 29.5cm highCONDITION REPORTThe marks are crisp and clear. The detachable drip pans with conforming clear marks. One stick with a tiny pin prick size whole to the first step above the beaded border of the base. Several small but inconsequential dints around the base. The marks are clear and crisp. In generally good condition.
