ENGLISH SCHOOL, ATTRIBUTED TO CAPTAIN ROBERT MELVILLE GRINDLAY (1786-1877) Le Roi de Delhi et sa suite au moment d'être capturé par l'armée anglaise (the king of Delhi and his suite at the time of his capture by the English army) Oil on paper laid on cardboard Unsigned A handwritten label laid on the back of the painting does title this painting, does attribute it and does provide with indications as to its provenance: Le Roi de Delhi et sa suite au moment d'être capturé par l'armée anglaise offert à Madame Borriglione Nice 1949 A Melville Grindlay . 29 x 37.3cm Notes: The arrest of Bahadur Shah Zafar, King of Delhi and last Mughal Emperor took place 1857/09/20 before the Humayun's tomb, where the former did find refuge. It was performed by Captain Hodson and did constitute a major event of the Sepoys Mutiny or First War of Independence, the first step towards the fall of the Mughal Empire. Captain Robert Melville-Grindlay is well-known for his illustrations transcribed in books of engravings such as Scenery, Costumes, and Architecture, chiefly on the Western Side of India. Our painting could be referred to as a Company Painting. The label laid on its back does link it with one of the prominent Nice families, i.e. that of Alfred Borriglione (1841-1902), a lawyer and politician whom became the mayor of the city and a senator of the Alpes Maritimes.

Toho Studios, who produced the film, were unable to complete financing, prompting 20th Century Fox to step in to finish the film, distribute it, and promote it internationally with George Lucas and Francis Ford Coppola as executive producers. Kurosawa signed this canvas-backed, Japanese-made widescreen poster with red acrylic in both Kanji and English (Romanji) while completing a film at Industrial Light & Magic (ILM). The poster is in good overall condition with its coloration still vibrant and only minor creasing from being rolled. Dimensions: 40" x 50" (101.75 cm x 127 cm) Estimate: $4,000 - 6,000

Note other lots in the auction may close on June 30th or July 1st. A hero biker scout blaster from Richard Marquand's Star Wars: Return of the Jedi. Biker scouts, known as scout troopers during production, used their unique hold-out blasters throughout the ground battle on Endor. The small blasters were carried in an ankle holster and played in several memorable scenes involving Princess Leia (Carrie Fisher) and Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill.) The small blaster is a rare hero version, finished to a higher standard than the majority of the blasters made for the film and intended specifically for close-up work. It is believed that only 3-4 hero blasters were made for production and this is the only one in private hands today. The blaster is made primarily from cast resin with a bent metal trigger guard. The scope is cast separately and attached with screws; one screw cover has gone missing since production. Several specific features identify the blaster as a hero version: the intricate step-down barrel assembly, the reflector lens in the back of the scope, and the round tube-like detail at the back of the main body. The blaster is in good overall condition with some deliberate distressing for production as well as additional wear and age, including scuffing and paint chipping throughout. Dimensions: 9" x 5" x 3" (23 cm x 12.75 cm x 7.75 cm) Please note that payment plans are not available for this lot; full payment will be due within 7 business days of the end of the auction. Estimate: $40,000 - 60,000

He started his career in his home country Jamaica, aged twelve. He chose athletics over cricket, which he had played up until then. In the course of his career, he became a legend: eleven-time World Champion and eight Olympic gold medals, not to mention world records over distances of 100 metres, 200 metres and 4 x 100 metres relay! Usain Bolt has definitely earned his place in the pantheon of athletic sport. The fate of watch manufacturer Hublot and brand ambassador Usain Bolt were interwoven for many years. It‘s a logic partnership, as the „Lightning Bolt“ and Hublot are powered by the same force: the race against time, the competition with oneself and the burning desire to improve and go one step further every time. It is only natural that Hublot pays tribute to Usain Bolt, as he is retiring from competing.Usain Bolt, eight-time Olympic gold medallist, eleven-time World Champion and world record holder for the 4 x 100 metres relay, 100 metres and 200 metres sprints. With a world record time of 100 metres in 58 seconds. Usain was born in Jamaica on 2 August 1986. Height: 1.95 m, Weight: 94 kg
