He subsequently worked for publisher Grant Richards illustrating Ernest Bramah’s The Transmutation of Ling (1911), Lord Dunsany’s Five Plays (1914) and Ada Leverson’s Bird of Paradise (1914) and amongst other works.
A SET OF OAK LIBRARY STEPS 142cm high together with a 19th century rosewood overmantle mirror with pilaster columns, 67cm wide x 48cm high; a dressing table mirror with three drawers to the serpentine fronted box base, 52cm wide and a late 20th century Georgian style dressing table mirror together with a Victorian papier mache tray by Jennens & Betteridge with gilt and mother of pearl ornament, the tray 78cm wide x 62cm high (5) Condition: all furniture with minor marks, dents and scratches overall due to age and use; the library steps hand post loose in its joint and in need of repair, ring mark to one step and further marks and stains to the steps; the mirror with losses to the gilding of the slip and on the pilaster columns, further minor marks; the box based mirror with some losses and raising of veneer, stains overall; the Georgian style mirror with minor marks; the papier mache tray with some deterioration of the joints between the edge and the base particularly to the top, cracks to the papier mache particularly at the top, in need of some support and restoration
