An Art Deco style large aquamarine and diamond dress ring, with round and baguette-cut stepped diamond shoulders and openwork bridge, rectangular step-cut aquamarine approx 16ct, stone dimensions: length - 17.29mm, width - 14.19mm, depth - 9.35mm, setting height 17.7mm, size R, 8.4gCondition Report: Very good original bright condition, all stones present with no major chips or cracks, aqua has 1 very small girdle nibble in the centre of a short edge, facet faces have a few tiny abrasions visible through a loupe and stepped facet edges have a few very small abrasions, aqua exhibits rain-like inclusions but no other major obvious flaws, diamonds have clean facet faces and sharp facet edges, generally a very slight hint of yellow but still bright, settings lightly surface scratched and completely unmarked although most likely high carat white gold.

An unusual late 18th century brass barrelled percussion mortar or pyrotechnic pistol, converted from flintlock with breech drum, 12½” overall, barrel 6¾” with bore diameter at muzzle of 1-1/8”, with muzzle ring and step down to the breech, which has traces of engraving; later style flat stepped lock with simple scroll engraving and traces of name (R.A. Shaw’); fullstocked with brass mounts including grotesque mask butt cap and simply engraved trigger guard; with replacement brass tipped ramrod. GWO & generally GC (lock lightly pitted and worn, entire fore end and sideplate replaced).
