2005 Land Rover 90 County TD5 Transmission: manualMileage:48250The Land Rover Defender was developed in the 1980s from the original Land Rover series that was launched at the Amsterdam Motor Show in April 1948. This four-wheel drive vehicle was the British equivalent of the American Willys Jeep. Built using a steel ladder chassis and aluminium bodywork the Defender gained a worldwide reputation for ruggedness and versatility. This 2005 Land Rover SWB 90 with the 2.5 litre diesel engine is presented in black with matching wheels sitting on nearly new Cooper tyres, new Corbeau seats to the front and the rear seats changed for standard Bearmach seats creating a six-seat configuration. The owner has upgraded the exterior of this example to include side steps, a new front bumper, upgraded wheels with spacers, Bearmach LED Lights fitted all round, wheel arch covers, MOMO steering, new wing mirrors, handbrake lever, new mudflaps, rear step and rear windows tinted, and towbar. To the cabin with the new seats, we also find a modern Pioneer Stereo with Apple Car Play capabilities; it displays a reversing camera when engaged, has upgraded speakers and an adjustable base box subtly behind the centre armrest. The centre armrest box with Union Jack is a new addition, which is also lockable. The underside has been cleaned and dried, underseal treatment carried out and rear trailing arm bushes replaced with poly-bushes. Showing a remarkable 48,250 miles from new the servicing schedule has been 2008, 2015, 2021 (April), and then again in May 2021 when the car was serviced and all upgrades fitted. Due to the popularity security hinges, made by Optimill, have been fitted to the front doors and bonnet. A hidden button has been fitted and the ignition will not turn unless this button has been pressed whilst turning the key. This is coupled with a factory fitted alarm with the fob unlocking all doors. MoT'd until January 2023 we are informed it starts perfectly every time, cruises comfortably at 60mph and has importantly not been de-restricted or chipped for extra horsepower. The engine is standard so the new owner can benefit from an unmolested 2495 TD5 engine.
2001 Porsche 911/996 Carrera Transmission: automaticMileage:102000The 996 is the internal designation for the Porsche 911 model manufactured and sold between 1998 and 2005. On its debut, the 996 featured the most significant changes to the Carrera model since its 1963 introduction, namely the water-cooled engine replacing the previously air-cooled unit. Progressively stringent noise regulations, environmental concerns, a higher expectation for refinement and a high-performance, four-valve per cylinder engine made the switch necessary. Other changes included a sleeker body with a more steeply raked windshield and a redesigned interior. The performance characteristics remained superb with reliability at its core. The Targa models now featured a full glass and electronically operated roof. The 996 was another step forward for Porsche, making cars that not only excited their fan base but appealed to those who wanted a comfortable and practical everyday sports car that could sprint to 60mph in a shade over five seconds. This Porsche 996 was delivered new in 2001 to a Mr Doswell in Southampton, who according to the original order supplied in the history paid £61,240. This included PSM, parking sensors and onboard computer as options. With just three previous keepers and presented in Artic Silver Metallic with black leather trim this example has been comprehensively serviced and cared for initially by Porsche Main dealers, with 10 service stamps until 2012 and 88,193 miles. HP Motorsport took on maintenance from 2013 with three further services; the last at 101,314 miles which was a major service and invoices for which can be found in the history file. Works include the important IMS bearing and timing chains replaced. This example also has a new MoT test certificate until April 2023, two sets of keys, a full book pack and tracker, making it a very affordable and desirable 911 with a good history file. When prices rise for 996's (and they will) you could be one of the lucky ones that can say they bought a 911 for under £20,000!
2002 Land Rover Defender 90 SW Transmission: manualMileage:23075The Land Rover Defender was developed in the 1980's from the original Land Rover series that was launched at the Amsterdam Motor Show in April 1948. This four-wheel drive vehicle was the British equivalent of the American Willys Jeep. Built using a steel ladder chassis and aluminium bodywork the Defender gained a worldwide reputation for ruggedness and versatility. This well-equipped six-seat version of the iconic Land Rover Defender 90 was manufactured in 2002 and registered in the UK on 25th August 2005.This iconic car benefits from alloy wheels, multi height towbar, folding rear step, side steps, mudflaps and chequer plate bonnet protection. The seats are arranged with two forward facing and four inward facing in the rear. The rear seats fold away to allow for increased load space, this seat configuration is becoming rarer to find and offers fantastic practicality. The dark metallic blue paint work is complemented by the grey check interior. Presented to auction with a V5C registration document and an MoT test certificate valid until 20th April 2023, this Land Rover is as practical as it is fun.
1981 Ford Cortina Ghia Mk. V (2.0 litre) Transmission: manualMileage:995The biggest step forward for the fourth-generation Cortina was that it finally saw the convergence of the German Taunus and the British Cortina. No longer were these two separate ranges but merely the same cars carrying different badges. The Mk. V was announced on 24th August 1979 and officially the program was code named Teresa although externally it was marketed as 'Cortina 80'. Largely an update to the Mk. IV, it was really a step between a facelift and a re-body. The Mk. V differentiated itself from the Mk. IV by having revised headlights with larger turn indicators incorporated, a wider slatted grille said to be more aerodynamically efficient, a flattened roof, larger glass area, slimmer C-pillars with revised vent covers, larger slatted taillights (on saloon models) and upgraded trim. Improvements were also made to the engine range with slight improvements to both fuel economy and power output compared to the Mk. IVThis rare four door Mk. V Ford Cortina automatic was supplied new in London in December 1981. Due to its age it now qualifies for free road fund licence, it is MoT test exempt and is ULEZ compatible. This low ownership example has recently benefitted from a considerable amount of money being spent on recommissioning. Works included the fitting of a new radiator, exhaust pipe and alternator. The bodywork of this iconic Ford is in good order and is complemented by a sumptuous velour interior. The look is enhanced with period correct alloy wheels, a factory fitted steel sunroof and a working radio cassette player. An earlier engine rebuild was undertaken and this Cortina is fitted with a fully documented LPG conversion. We are informed that with the flick of a switch the car runs well on gas. The often troublesome automatic choke has recently been replaced with a much more user friendly manual version. Supplied with a V5C registration document, a valid MoT test certificate despite its exemption by age, and various paperwork including a superb Ford press release 'The Cortina story'. Offered without reserve this Ford is an opportunity not to be missed.
1957 Austin Healey 100/6 BN4 'Fast Road' Transmission: manualMileage:86000Introduced for 1956, the Austin Healey 100/6 represented the most radical step forward in the development of the 'Big Healey'. Despite its initial success, sales of the original Austin Healey 100 had begun to decline by the mid-1950s and so the model was revamped as the 100/6 using the BMC 2.6 litre C-Series six-cylinder engine replacing the four-cylinder Austin Atlantic engine. This six-cylinder, pushrod engine produced 102bhp, twelve horsepower more than its predecessor, though the inevitable weight gain meant that there was little improvement in performance, the cars top speed remaining around 103mph. At the same time, the wheelbase was increased by two inches from 7' 6" to 7' 8", which enabled the inclusion of two seats in the rear of the BN4 variant. Although stylistically very similar to the earlier model the 100/6 was nevertheless easily distinguishable by its 'crinkle' radiator grille and the bonnet top air intake. In 1957, an improved engine became available and this 117bhp unit was fitted to all the newly introduced BN6 two-seater roadsters. Top speed improved to 111mph and 1.7 seconds was cut from the 0-60mph time.Presented in Yukon Green with beautifully trimmed leather stitched bucket seats and wood rim steering wheel with contrasting white hardtop, this example was supplied new to California. Since then this 100/6 has been repatriated and converted to right hand drive during its subsequent full restoration. The fully encompassing works include a new chassis, all aluminium body panels and a fully overhauled engine complete with fuel injection and Emerald ECU. That not only means that this 100/6 is a lot more reliable than a stock car, but it also develops a lot more power. Fitted with Mini-lite style wheels all with a good set of matching Vredestein Sprint Classics for handling. The bushes and tie rods have also been upgraded recently, with new braided lines for fuel and copper lines for brakes, coupled with facet electric pump in the boot with accumulator. In the interior some modern upgrades to the stereo and USB charging equipment can be found. A stunning Mille Miglia eligible example at a fraction of the cost of the restoration.

From the private collection of a continental ladyA DIAMOND SINGLE-STONE RING, BY CARLO ILLARIO FOR FASANOComposed of a cut-cornered step-cut diamond weighing approximately 2.50cts within collet-setting, to a plain hoop, signed Fasano, with Italian registry mark for Carlo Illario, ring size LBorn to a family of cotton manufacturers in Chieri in 1900, Mario Fasano’s undoubted eye for beauty would lead to him opening his first jewellery business, ‘Gioielleria Fasano’, in Turin in 1928. Throughout his work, Fasano adhered to the traditional practices of Parisian jewellers, and, while styles changed, the craftmanship that lay at the heart of their work was honoured by him throughout his life. He married Stella Piovano in 1932 and she was to be his life-long partner in every sense of the term. Together in 1935 they opened their first store in Piazza Castello, the heart of Turin’s lively social scene. As the white gems and platinum of the 1930s gave way to the bold colours and yellow gold of the 1940s and 50s, Fasano’s signature pheasant or ‘Fagiona’ brooch, the emblem of his maison, became a recognisable staple in the world of fine Italian jewellery. As the 50s progressed, Fasano’s and Stella’s attention moved more towards the selection of precious and unusual stones, favouring cabochon cuts and those less traditional cuts. When their son Dario Fasano joined the family business in the 1960s, the older generation drew on his experiences studying abroad to bring a fresher spin on their materials and techniques, such as lava stone and gold/bronze combinations.Fasano Jewellers closed operations in 2013, but their pieces still embody some of the best in mid-century jewellery.Condition Report: Principal diamond: please note that the diamond was gauged within collet-setting, approx. 2.50cts, unable to assess colour due to yellow mount, estimated clarity VS2-VS1Superficial signs of wear, overall in good conditionTotal gross weight approx. 9.4g
