The 944 Turbo Cabriolet combined the Turbo S' 250bhp engine with the strengthened cabriolet body built by ASC at Weinsberg Only 625 were built, with just 100 examples produced in right-hand drive for the UK, Japanese, Australian and South African markets Classically finished in Guards Red with a Classic Grey (TT) leather interior and grey carpets throughout Original and fully stamped Porsche Service Book plus numerous invoices for maintenance and previous MOT Certificates, helping support the indicated mileage Factory stickers still in situ, two sets of keys and a complete book-pack suggest careful ownership This is a simply lovely example of one of the rarest and most sought-after Porsches from the 1990s Following the international success of their nimble 924, Porsche designed an all-alloy, 2.5-litre inline-four for their new 944 which they planned to introduce in 1982. Their talented engineers were able to produce a very smooth running four-cylinder engine by utilising two counter-rotating balance shafts running at twice engine speed. These carry eccentric weights which produce inertial forces that balance out the unbalanced secondary forces, all a bit technical but the result is a large four-cylinder engine that feels as turbine-smooth as a six. Cosmetically, the 944's bodywork was revised with wider wheel arches (similar to that of the 924 Carrera GT), a fresh interior and upgrades to the brakes and suspension. With greater visual presence and the performance to match, better handling, stopping power and more creature comforts, the 944 was a natural step forward. A 'turbo' version of the 944 was always on the cards, and the forced induction boosted the 2.5-litre engine by a healthy 60bhp, necessitating an upgraded clutch and gearbox. The chassis was further developed and thicker anti-roll bars and four-pot brake calipers were fitted to deal with the significantly increased performance. Externally, a smoother nose panel and a larger rear spoiler distinguished it from its lesser siblings. In February 1991, the final year of 944 production, Porsche released the 944 Turbo Cabriolet which combined the Turbo S' 250bhp engine with the strengthened cabriolet body built by the ASC-American Sunroof Company at Weinsberg. Compared to the Coupé the Cabriolet's windscreen is lowered about 6cm and raked back to reduce the wind noise when the top is down. Porsche initially announced that 600 would be made, but ultimately 625 were built, with just 100 examples produced in right-hand drive for the UK, Japanese, Australian and South African markets. These are rare cars, produced for just one year, with only 32 examples believed to still reside in the UK. Presented here is a UK-supplied, right-hand drive, 944 Turbo Cabriolet supplied new by Porsche Centre-Strattons of Wilmslow Ltd. on the 1st August 1992. Finished in the ageless Porsche colour combination of Guards Red with a Classic Grey (TT) leather interior and grey carpets throughout, this car is in superb condition and has today covered just 50,000 miles (approx.). It was supplied with options 220: a limited-slip differential with 40% lockup with reinforced inner plates and molybdenum coated differential shafts (as standard), 233: tyre specification, 573: air-conditioning, 605: headlight aim control and 946: leather/ leatherette seats. It was serviced by Porsche Centres (Strattons, Chariots, AFN) from 2,789 miles to 19,968 miles, and latterly by marque specialists. It's supplied with the original fully stamped Porsche Service Book, numerous invoices for maintenance, and older MOT Certificates, which help corroborate the indicated mileage. Now being sold from part of an enthusiast's collection, this car has recently benefited from a full service (including cam-belt) in 2016. Bought by our vendor from a Porsche main dealer, unfortunately, a change in circumstances now means he must sell the car. This fabulous, open-top, Porsche has obviously been well-maintained and presents, both mechanically and cosmetically, really well. Small but important details like factory stickers still in situ, two sets of keys and a complete book-pack help support its careful ownership. This is a simply lovely example of one of the rarest and most sought-after Porsches from the 1990s. The 944, the 968 and even the 928 are seeing their values rise in the wake of the '911 explosion' and front-engined Porsches are having the Renaissance they richly deserve. This great example, whilst being competitively guided, opens the door into a very exclusive club. Click here for more information This car was consigned by Joe Watts. Jaguar's seminal Mk2 sports saloon in the ultimate 3.8-litre, manual/overdrive configuration UK/right-hand drive, matching numbers, original panels, and in its original colours of Opalescent Silver Grey with red interior Fully documented ownership history and a verifiable 20,400 miles Magazine-featured (see images) and considered one of best Mk2 examples in the UK Accompanied by a large history file, including many invoices, photos, a Heritage Certificate and all-original handbooks, toolkit, and even the paper tag that hung on the cigarette lighter to inform owners how to use it! In 2006, sold to Richard Fairbrass, lead singer of Right Said Fred, by a prominent Jaguar specialist where it benefited from a full engine-bay detail, power steering and other driving enhancements believed costing in excess of £60,000 One of the best Mk2 examples we have ever offered for sale Launched in October 1959, the Jaguar Mk2 offered a noticeably improved driving experience over its predecessor courtesy of revised front suspension geometry, widened rear track, and four-wheel disc brakes. It was also better looking and, fittingly, the Mk2 was voted 'Car of the Year' in 1959 and would form the mainstay of Jaguar's saloon car production until 1967. One of the most readily recognised cars of the 1960's, thanks in part to countless appearances in films and on television, Jaguar's seminal Mk2 saloon set the standard for the class throughout its entire production life and today remains highly prized by enthusiasts. With the advent of the Mk2, the 3.8-litre version of Jaguar's XK twin-cam six became available for the first time in the company's medium-sized saloon. In 3.8-litre, manual/overdrive configuration with 220bhp on-tap and a whopping 240lb/ft of torque available at a lowly 3,000rpm, it was a genuine 125 mph car capable of reaching 60mph in 8.5 seconds, outstanding figures for a saloon of its size and making it the fastest saloon in the world at the time. The car presented here is that most desirable of models, a 1961 Jaguar Mk2 3.8-litre M/OD. This particular car is well-known and has been magazine-featured, having completed a genuine and well-documented 20,400 miles from new. It was sold new to a Mr James Young of Strathaven, Scotland, who ordered this Mk2 from Rossleigh Motors, notably with Ace Turbo wheel-trims and two huge air-horns situated in the front wings! Mr Young owned Townhead Garage and upon delivery of the car, he took the rather unusual step of having it professionally stripped and repainted in his 'garage livery' of Coffee and Cream. This work was carried out by Millar & Williamson of Kirkintilloch and period photographic documentation (in the accompanying history file) depicts the car in this colour scheme (Mr Young also assigned the very special registration number 'NU 1' to the car at this time, and this was later purchased by Norwich Union). Mr Young only used the car sparingly at weekends and for holidays, however in 1964 he sadly fell ill and the Mk2 sat unused until his death 23 years later in 1987. Townhead Garage was then sold to a Mr Jimmy Louden and he agreed with Mr Young's widow that he would help dispose of her husband's car collection that had quietly accumulated over the years. Jimmy Louden fully re-commissioned the car and it was sold in 1988 with just 8,500 miles on the clock! In subsequently passed between a number of owners since (all fully documented in history file, often with letters from each), including a Mr Kevin Videan of Pembrokeshire, who together with the Mk2 featured in a great article in the January 2005 edition of 'Jaguar Enthusiast' magazine (photos of which are attached to this listing, use arrows to click right through). Prior to his ownership, the car was professionally restored back to its original colour combination (with another high quality repaint in 2012 with a photographic record and receipts); the only external deviation now from the original factory specification is the fitment of wire wheels. The interior is one of the best we have seen, presented in an unrestored condition, with a beautiful patina and unrepeatable original smell, a rare opportunity to experience just how Jaguar prepare their veneers when new! The only upgrade is the addition of a recreated Derrington steering wheel, a popular upgrade in the period. In 2006, it was sold to Richard Fairbrass, lead singer of 'Right Said Fred', by a leading Jaguar specialist where it benefitted from a full engine-bay detail, power steering and other driving enhancements believed to cost in excess of £60,000. Our vendor purchased the car in 2011 and has continued the fastidious maintenance and storage of it. Having enjoyed his time with it, this fabulous Mk2 is now ready for a new owner to drive and enjoy. Click here for more information This car was consigned by Joe Watts. Superbly finished in Amethyst over Cotswold hide with Indigo piping Burr Elm veneered door panel inserts, rear-quarter vanity mirrors, steering wheel and picnic tables Three keepers and only 21,000 miles. Documented speedometer change at 8,248 miles Powered by the silky-smooth BMW M73 V12 mated to a 5-speed ZF automatic Good service history with main dealers and specialists. Most recent at P & A Wood (09/19) Style, comfort and exclusivity available at less than a quarter of its list price new The Graham Hull-penned Silver Seraph was a clear statement of Rolls-Royce's intention to reclaim the coveted title of the producer of "The Best Car in the World". Following a long gestation period, it was eventually only made for four years, from 1998 to 2002 and replaced the Silver Spur, which ended production in 1997. All Seraphs were hand-built at the factory in Crewe which stopped assembling Rolls-Royce models in 2002 but continued with Bentley. The Seraph was powered by a 5.4-litre, aluminium-alloy, BMW M73 V12 engine making it the first twelve-cylinder Rolls-Royce since the 1939 Phantom III. The transmission was a 5-speed automatic and standard electronics included digital engine management, adaptive ride control, and anti-lock brakes. The car had a base price of £155,175 in the UK at the time and just 1,570 Seraphs slipped quietly out of the Crewe gates during that four-year period. This lovely Seraph is finished in the most remarkable colour of Amethyst. From a distance it appears to be the traditional and respectable Rolls-Royce hue of Midnight Blue almost Black, however, step a little closer and, as the Sun reflects off the substantial flanks of this striking motor car, you are rewarded with a kaleidoscope of colours moving from deep blue through mauve, purple, even red mica, subtle but simply stunning. The sumptuous interior is classic RR and features 'Cotswold' leather seating piped in Indigo, Burr Elm cross-banded veneers, Navy Blue carpet and Lambswool over-rugs throughout. The steering wheel is a work of art with circular Burr Elm veneer and Navy Blue leather and, arguably, is worth the car's asking price on its own. Naturally, these luxurious motor cars are comprehensively equipped but one additional factory option was to have a pop-up screen with a reversing camera which is indeed fitted to this car, however, our vendor has just spent around £5,000 with a marque specialist having the pop-up screen modified to house the most recent, top of the range, Garmin touch-screen Sat Nav with an updated rearview camera as well as front and rear parking sensors. Serviced meticulously throughout its life by Rolls-Royce specialists P&A Wood, the odometer was changed under warranty at just over 8,200 miles, and given the currently displayed mileage, indicates that this car has travelled only 21,000 miles during its 21-year life. The finest motor car in the world? Who knows, but it was the first Rolls built under BMW ownership and is all the better for it. The Seraph, particularly in this spectacular colour combination, makes a statement without saying a word. Letting your heart rule your head has rarely been so rewarding. The health and safety of both our customers and team remains the utmost priority, we are therefore operating to strict COVID-19 guidelines and full instructions will be given when making your appointment. UK delivered (C-16), right-hand drive, Tiptronic car with a warranted 43,475 miles (atoc) Tastefully specified in Midnight Blue with Marble Grey leather, black soft top and silver alloys Superb history folder and the original book-pack including the service booklet stamped up-to-date most recently by marque specialists In lovely condition with recent expenditure of £5,000 on maintenance and aesthetics Revered modern classic sports car noted for its excellent build quality and sure-footed handling The Porsche (project no.) 968 made its debut in 1991 and was effectively the last gasp for the long-lived 924 line. Originally mooted as the 944 S3, the new number was probably more a result of pressure from the marketing department, but it was right for recessionary Porsche wrestling with struggling sales. Visually, it was the biggest step forward since the launch of the original 944 in 1981, with only the doors, roof and tailgate being carried over from the 944. The new front-end with 928 style pop-up headlamps did bring a touch of modernity. It was powered by an updated version of the 944's straight-four 3.0-litre, now with 237bhp. Changes to the 968's powertrain included the addition of Porsche's, then-new, 'Varioram' variable valve timing system, newly optimised induction and exhaust systems, a dual-mass flywheel, updated engine management electronics and the dual-mode Tiptronic automatic became an option. First registered on the 24/05/1994, this right-hand drive (C-16) UK-supplied Porsche 968 had been very tastefully specified in Midnight Blue with Marble Grey leather. It was optioned from new with a dark blue hood, Tiptronic (automatic) transmission, 17'' Cup-style alloy wheels, the 'Cup' steering wheel and an upgraded stereo system compatible with a modern iPhone. With just three registered keepers to date, it's clear to see that this sparkling 968 has been well looked after over the years. It's in lovely condition and has benefitted from recent expenditure of around £5,000 on maintenance and aesthetics ensuring the little Porsche remains in top form. The indicated mileage of 43,475 is supported by a comprehensive service history and the car is accompanied by its original Porsche book-pack containing the service book/owner's manuals and the tool kit is also present. The MoT is up-to-date and valid until March 2021 with no advisories. As you can see from the video attached to this listing, the electric hood operates as it should and we are informed by our vendor that the car drives as well as it looks. Today, these modern classic sports cars offer superb value for money and, as you would expect from one of the world's most highly regarded sports car manufacturers, the performance matches the excellent build quality. These 968s look as good on the road today as they did when new in the '90s and running costs needn't be painful either with many marque specialists available for routine maintenance. Summer is just around the corner and this Cabriolet is a lovely example in a super colour, with decent history and very sensibly guided.
